Hi @Machelshman,
I have subscribed to all of your theme, but non of them seem to work. The game says that some assets are missing. Do you know how to fix that problem or what I else can do.
Hope you can help cause they are very well made!
Oldhip 25 Mar, 2019 @ 10:45pm
Agh I was trying to make a theme with content manager, thanks, and yes assets is more suited :)
Macwelshman  [author] 7 Mar, 2019 @ 2:48am
@Oldhip By the way I assume you meant to say "…really good assets".
Macwelshman  [author] 7 Mar, 2019 @ 2:46am
@Oldhip It really doesn't take long to create your own themes just follow theses instructions.

1. Subscribe to these house assets
2. Subscribe to the ’Building Themes' mod (link is above)
3. In game Menu go to the Content Manager > Mods and ensure that the ’Building Themes' mod is enabled then Content Manager > Assets and also confirm that the UK house assets are all enabled.
4. Start a game and go to the City Policies > Themes panel and enable themes in this city.
5. Select Manage Themes and create a new theme and name it, search for the specific assets for this theme (e.g "UK terraced") enable all if you get the correct results in the list.
6. You can specify individual districts to have different themes (e.g. Terraced district, Semi district etc.)
7. Play.

This process takes about 10 minutes to create several themes.

Sadly takes to long to create your own themes in game, I will stick with themes already made. shame means I miss out on some really good asses.

I have some impression that those building make a big fps drop on the game sadly
macluk 21 Jan, 2018 @ 9:03am
Not that easy if one has hundreds of other buldings in the list :)
but at least yours have similar names so searching will do. Not sure if i can add them all with one click when they are filtered by name... with so many other assets - it's a painfully slow process to do it one by one.... and i already hit the limit of 124 (or is it 125) districts... so no more seperate districts :/
The game should really have 2 options - for PCs meeting basic requirements and for those who can do more and want to have really good experience - that would be brilliant.

You need to create your own theme for the new assets. I no longer create themes with my assets as it is so easy to create them in game. Follow theses instructions.

5. Select Manage Themes and create a new theme, enabling the UK house assets in the list.
6. You can specify individual districts to have different themes (e.g. Terraced district, Semi district etc.)
7. Play.
KillTheKeyboard 7 Jan, 2018 @ 1:53pm
I have downloaded your different packs but they don't seem to be appearing in the theme selection. Any suggestions?
macluk 8 Nov, 2017 @ 12:08am
@Macwelshman - is it intentional that you are not creating mod or district styles? It takes ages to assign a single building to a newly created district style (possibly because of the amount of assets on my PC), like 10 secs or more each time i add a new building in assets editor. Is it because you are trying to avoid using props or just for our convenience to use these buildings in any theme we want them (although even when you create a mod for building theme, your assets are seperately anyway)?
It's just a question, not to tell you off :)

I do like your work from what little I have tried, thanks for sharing.

The biggest issue, for me, is the dependancy on props from other people. When they are taken down or get a name change then we have issues on being able to see the houses you make as they were meant to be seen.

Great news that you recognise this issue, seen in the comments :)
@ThatFatCat 18 Jul, 2017 @ 9:19am
im building all uk major cities at th moment- these are amazing
Alan 10 Jul, 2017 @ 2:08am
I found a work around - Downloaded a few mods which allow me to plob the assets instead although now the game isnt working very well, fire, health dumb trucks ect are not spawning anything
Macwelshman  [author] 9 Jul, 2017 @ 6:10am
@Creativeworks Some of my earlier houses used third party props that no longer are available. I don't intend to update these assets as I will produce new packs with no prop dependencies. However you should be able to use the easier houses even if you get a warning of missing props. The houses would just be missing props in the gardens. If the themes are playing up, the best solution would be to create a new theme with just the assets you want.

I'm trying to re - create a place called Penge in Lodnon. I have subbed to every mod of yours, or every one I can find. Some themes are missing buildings though and some have none of them. Odd..
Alan 9 Jul, 2017 @ 3:56am
Press sub ... Then tick it on in content manager ingame like any other mod.
Jägar1 3 Jul, 2017 @ 3:18am
how do i subscribe to the mod assets?
gamefailure 2 Jul, 2017 @ 9:52am
@macwelshman ok thanks
Macwelshman  [author] 2 Jul, 2017 @ 4:47am
@gamefailure you have to export the Blender model as fbx format (it's a default export option).

Here's a link to a basic tutorial From Blender to Cities Skylines ingame - Fast Tutorial
gamefailure 1 Jul, 2017 @ 5:21pm
@macwelshman i know you said that tutorial making is very above your abilites which is very understandable but can you explain how to export from blener to cities please its ok if you cant
gamefailure 1 Jul, 2017 @ 5:18pm
@macwelshman ok thanks anyway and for the fast response i am using your buildings to make my home town of thanet and they are looking really great!
Macwelshman  [author] 1 Jul, 2017 @ 4:51pm
@ gamefailure Thanks for your positive feedback. Unfortunately a tutorial on creating assets like this is beyond my abilities. I use Blender to create the models and a lot of other stuff is done in Photoshop. I recommend searching for tutorials on YouTube. I have learned a great deal (and still do) from many excellent tutorials available. Give it a go. It's a great learning experience and I look forward to seeing the results.
gamefailure 1 Jul, 2017 @ 2:30pm
@macwelshman looking really cool....also can you please do a tutorial for how to do these

@jamie_priday OK. It's really simple.

5. Select Manage Themes and create a new theme, enabling the UK house assets in the list.
6. You can specify individual districts to have different themes (e.g. Terraced district, Semi district etc.)
7. Play.

There are more details in the ’Building Themes' mod description if you need more details.
gamefailure 25 Jun, 2017 @ 4:45pm
@jamie_priday i dont understand what you mean you have to subscribe to them in the content manager and if you are talking about these then you have to subscribe to the mod buidling themes mod
jamie_priday89 25 Jun, 2017 @ 1:43pm

Macwelshman  [author] 22 Jun, 2017 @ 4:31pm
Hi. Assets will show as missing in theme manager if a previous theme you've created includes assets that are no longer subscribed (or available). I don't know why this particular problems is happening, but I recommend creating a new theme which includes all the houses from my 5 level packs. If you use this theme for your districts then it should work.
w.delaporte 22 Jun, 2017 @ 4:10pm
hi,when i go into themes ingame in says things are missing. what could be missing? ive downloaded everything for the theme, but still says things are missing.
MadTech 21 Jun, 2017 @ 4:41pm
