@jhughes Nice work mate!
jhughes 17 Mar, 2018 @ 10:34am
I created a modified heightmap.png that gets rid of the squares and other things on the terrain. You can use either the 8 or 16 bit version here if you like: https://drive.google.com/open?id=169go0oSo_DqTO-XrvzE3oNUNE7RwYRIV

Thanks for the reply

@ghm67 It happens all the time if a town is near the edge of maps in TpF. The only way to stop it is to use a railroad, ballist, or wall on the edge of it to stop AI from building there. You can see SlimNasty, ColonelFailure and SkyStorm video to see more on stopping it. TY for liking the map.

Hi great map, but I have roads, trees and building appearing off the edges of the map. How do i stop this?

Thank you to all for breaking the 1k mark! I hope you all are enjoying this map!!!!
Reh3dDoes  [author] 30 Aug, 2017 @ 12:08pm
@michael.cole, I believe you should be able to start one by editing the map.lua and just deleting the 7 farms in there, on loading it, it should see there are no industries and then load random ones.
Be certain to make a copy of the folder for the map name and name it something different, then on the copied folder is the map.lua you would want to delete the farms.
Any modders, please consider correcting me if I'm mistaken.
michael.cole 30 Aug, 2017 @ 3:02am
Could you upload a version of this map with random industry placement? That way we can use the new industries mod?
Reh3dDoes  [author] 6 Aug, 2017 @ 12:10pm
To any modders following this map, this loco would look amazing on this map :)

Uhoh.....I apprently uploaded this Industry Version over the no-industry version. :( What will this do do everyone's previous download? And what did I do wrong in my /staging_area folder?

Hoping to get something working this week.
Reh3dDoes  [author] 3 Jul, 2017 @ 5:50pm
You as well. Happy 4th to all...and to all a g'nyt.
Warhol76 3 Jul, 2017 @ 4:24pm
Thanks for your response. I will be patient. Have a great Holiday!
Reh3dDoes  [author] 2 Jul, 2017 @ 5:04am
@Warhol76, thank you. I should have had it posted last week, but have run into a snag with the map creator. Everytime I try to place an industry near Columbus (where I want it) the industry collides with the river and makes the Scioto no longer usable. So, I got frustrated and took a break from it. I will try again this week. Maybe I should try editing the map.lua file and place the coordinates that way. :/ Sorry for the delay.
If you have access to the workshop, I would highly recomend using Industry Tycoon or the Tycoon GX mod to place your own industries.
Warhol76 1 Jul, 2017 @ 4:22pm
Great map! What is the time-frame for this map with industry to be released?
Reh3dDoes  [author] 28 Jun, 2017 @ 5:33pm
Sweet, this map reached 500. Thanks, mates! If you really enjoy it, please click thumbs up. TY.

@flashy Thanks for sharing, as I had totally forgotten that step.

@flashy That fixed it, thank you.

@conrail4ever, I'm sorry it's not loading for you. I'm not a modder and would have no idea what could cause your issue. Hopefully one of the experts can help.
conrail4ever 24 Jun, 2017 @ 7:24am
Nope, i have never changed anything there.
Blue.PHS 24 Jun, 2017 @ 5:32am
@conrail4ever you must changed experimentalMapSizes from false to true in the settings.lua
conrail4ever 24 Jun, 2017 @ 1:26am
The map will not load for me :(
I get the message in red:

"Game initialization failed: Heightmap too large. Number of pixels must not exceed 16M."
TrainswithNick 23 Jun, 2017 @ 10:06am
Yeah no worries, adding my own industries is one of the best parts of the game
Reh3dDoes  [author] 23 Jun, 2017 @ 4:40am
@Acid Sun, I've not used GX, but I'm sure it will work. It's a standard map created with nothing special. I just wanted to remind you that currently farms are the only industry on the map, so you will need to install your own industries.
TrainswithNick 22 Jun, 2017 @ 11:30pm
Does it have to be the Industry Tycoon mod, or will others work as well? I typically use the GX industry mods for the additional buildings that come with it. If you haven't tried, i'll be happy to test it and report back.
Reh3dDoes  [author] 22 Jun, 2017 @ 4:45pm
@Acid Sun, when you do, remember to load the Industry Tycoon mod...and for better visuals use the vegetation mod. Hope you like.
TrainswithNick 22 Jun, 2017 @ 4:42pm
I'll have to give this a whirl in the next few days if I get a chance, steam sale has been very distracting ;)
Reh3dDoes  [author] 22 Jun, 2017 @ 2:22pm
@h.j.glauss Yes, a majority of the rivers are just obstacles that were listed pleasure rivers. The navigable rivers are the ones that were historically dredged for paddle wheels and flat-bottomed barges up until 1913. There are 5 in Ohio: Maumee (Toledo), Cuyahoga (Cleveland), Muskigum (Zanesville), Great Miami (Daytom), and the Scioto (Columbus), and of course the Ohio River. I hope it still makes for a fun challenge.
joschiblue 22 Jun, 2017 @ 2:06pm
Hi, this map is well done, but most of the rivers are too small for shipping.
Reh3dDoes  [author] 22 Jun, 2017 @ 12:48pm
Backdrop: This is my first map, so let me know what you think. I will be uploading another with industries in proper locations (i.e. steel plants in Erie, Pittsburgh, etc; and oil fields in eastern OH, etc.)
The navigable rivers include the 4 main rivers that were dredged and/or had accompanying major canals: the Erie-Ohio and the Miami-Ohio. I used this map for reference: https://rsc.byu.edu/sites/default/files/ohiocanals.jpg
Please enjoy and leave any comments or suggestions and share with everyone. Keep an eye out for the industry map coming soon.
