It looks like if you open the .darkest file with notepad, located in the folder for this mod, you can scroll to very bottom where it says crimson curse weak, crimson curse strong, and crimson curse boss. You will see the 10,25, and 30 respectively--guessing you can just tweak those however you prefer :P

Does this mod add any debuffs related to the Crimson Curse? Eg. -20 rounds Crimson Curse duration (battle)? I'm trying to figure out where this debuff came from in my modded playthrough

I felt like this was cheating at first... but then I realize just how obnoxious it is to have EVERY hero get the crimson curse.

被弱小怪物感染的几率从31%下降到10%



被强大怪物感染的几率从45%下降到25%



被boss感染的几率从75%下降到50%



我所看到的关于《Crimson Court》DLC的一个主要抱怨便是你的英雄经常会被《Crimson Curse》所感染,这便会导致你的大部分花名册都被感染。这个mod大大减少了发生这种情况的机会。

i think you might reduced it a bit too much, i tweaked it to 20%, 36% and 60% to boss :heart:

Is this outdated in any way? I've been using it for a while and it's worked just fine, then recently every hero that have gotten hit with The Thirst got afflicted.

does this affect quest events at all? haven't gotten the intro event that lets me into the courtyard yet so was trying to rule this one out as a culprit. thanks.

If finally makes the CC an unfortunate accident instead of a certainty, so even if fights vs bloodsuckers are kinda easier they're also more thrilling.

"Disease Resist" will count against the crimson curse ?
if so, Plague Doc. is good for tanking against mosquioes ?

Well, I have over 100 heroes and if I don't want the lack of enough blood to stop them from wasting to death, I am pretty much forced to install this before they become too many to sustain

I thought I would like this, but it actually pretty much eliminates the Curse entirely.

As you get better as a player, it is much rarer for monsters to hit you multiple times, since you are sweeping normal encounters much faster. I've been playing with this mod on for 20 hrs now and I have had only 2 infected with the curse.

Yes, the Baron technically infected another 4, but when each CC boss is beaten it heals your entire roster.

For new players on their first run I think this mod is truly excellent. But after a little experience I think you should avoid it - blame Red Hook for balancing the DLC badly in favour of veteran players.

@Moby Dick the Sperm Whale Hello there. So I was looking on crimson_court.effects.darkest file to see if anything had changed due the latest DD update build 24357(non-beta) and I noticed a small change on it and also what I believe is a typo on line 527 where it says ".buweff_ids" instead ".buff_ids" as on original file. The change I said is on line 46 where they added a ".chance 100% " after ".target "performer".

Hey Jack. The mod only modifies the "crimson_court.effects" file, so it shouldn't affect the drop chance of any items.

Moby Dick the Sperm Whale, hi. Can you tell me if your mod modifies drop chance of items like Journal Entries? I've found I have wierd things happening with some drop rates, and I try to figure which mods can cause that :)

@LeClercMan I think the value for getting infected at low levels is bugged but possible, in higher difficulties you can be infected at a reasonable rate.

@Moby Dick the Sperm Whale I think the mod is bugged, I've been hit countless times after installing it and I have never gotten cursed by said hits. I assumed RNGesus was on my side those times but at this point it's just not happening.

Is this mod bugged? Early on I went to the courtyard and the first hero to get hit was infected, but since then I haven't had a single curse applied. The infection has been high for weeks and my heroes get hit by the mosquitos all the time but no one gets cursed. Just seems like after the first infection it was disabled entirely. I was willing to chalk it up to RNG for a while but its gotten past that.

@Mr. Bigglesworth Try validating your game files. After Steam is done checking game files it always checks and syncs workshop content. It's possible that despite subscribing to the mod it simply hasn't downloaded immediately( which happens a lot).

The mod doesn't appear in the mod selection thingy thing in-game. I tried unsubscribing and subscribing, but that doesn't seem to work either. The only other mod I have related to the Crimson Court is the Crimson Curse Buff mod. Please help because out of 28 members on my roster 13 are already cursed. I really can't afford to let anymore heroes get std's:steamsad:

Thanks for this mod, I wanted to quit the game after the crimson curse DLC. Between the infection rate and the fanatic it made the game completely not fun for me. I'd love it if you made another mod that made the fanatic a one-time kill or reduced his attacks per turn, some kind of balancing because I've never been more pissed off at a game than going against that bullshit mob over and over again, never being able to retreat, losing group after group of heroes.

The only way the mod might break anything is if you have other mods enabled that also interact with the 'crimson_court.effects' file.

You'll still be able to earn achievements with this or any other mod enabled.

I see the last update here is July 6. Until Redhook slows down on patching, I recommend including the official Build Number compatibility. Oh, and thanks for this :) The vanilla infection rate is crazy, even by DD's standards.

They did reduce the proc rates slightly, previously they were 38%, 55% and 75%. I personally do still think they're too high though, but of course it all depends on how much of an effect you'd like to see the curse have on your game.

After todays patch, the non-modded chances are 31%, 45% and 75% for weak, strong and boss monsters respectively.

I'll be updating the mod shortly to be compatible with the newest patch, but it's up to you to decide which values you prefer.

Thank you for this mod. I enabled the DLC on my original file, without a decent stock of blood, a ton of my characters died because I couldn't keep up with the deman of blood needed to keep them alive.
