Your content made me feel like I'm playing Elite Dangerous in SE, great job mate

That sucks, it seems that space engineers is getting better now though so hopefully you can return sometime.
Lord Commissar  [author] 1 Feb, 2018 @ 8:04pm
i had ships in development, one i spent many hours on that i'd still like to release at some point. but at the time SE kept having issues that ruined its ability to function. that got me out of SE, and then life came in and filled the gap as i am progressively getting busier as i continue my studies in actual engineering.

i would like to return to SE when i have the time, but i can't guarantee when that may be

Pfs is dead now, isn’t it?

I love the look
dresoccer4 4 Aug, 2017 @ 8:21pm
true. well here's hoping one day the game will actually be released out of beta and the breaki-ness will go away lol. thanks for quick reply btw
Lord Commissar  [author] 4 Aug, 2017 @ 8:15pm
only vanilla these days. that way there's no copy and paste issues, and the ships are less likely to break on me with updates.
dresoccer4 4 Aug, 2017 @ 8:10pm
i love your ships, mate. especially the older ones (aka Rook). i especially enjoyed the interior layouts and realistic flow of them. curious, it doesn't seem like you use mods anymore, is that correct? i miss the pretty interiors :)
Lord Commissar  [author] 29 Jun, 2017 @ 11:26pm
really just depends on the ship. most common inspirations would be Amarr, Mordu's Legion, Caldari, Tau, Gaalsien, Imperials, and Vagyr

for the most part, though, i've simply developed my own style over the years, which i'd say is an Amarr/Caldari mixture, and that's mostly how i do things now. but before i build any ship there's quite a lot of google image searching that goes on to see where the inspiration strikes, or if there's any elements i'd like to put in.

So whats the inspiration behind how you do your ship designs Lord Commissar? Im really inspired by these kinds of designs, and a sucker for sleek elongated ships that have shapes pleasing to the eye.
Firestorm🗿 29 Jun, 2017 @ 11:29am
Who else thinks this looks like the normandy?
Viper 29 Jun, 2017 @ 9:28am
aaah ok, i get it. thank you
Lord Commissar  [author] 29 Jun, 2017 @ 9:27am
in the turret slaving script, AI turrets are used as designators that guide the player made turrets. so if you turn off the designator, the turret no longer works. "hydra" is the name given to the style of turret, since it comes from my hydra AA tank
Viper 29 Jun, 2017 @ 9:24am
forgive my ignorance, but what is a hydra designator?
Nick_is_hraar 26 Jun, 2017 @ 11:57am
ah i see
Lord Commissar  [author] 25 Jun, 2017 @ 7:32pm
@Nick_is_hraar for mixed grid ships, you use them by remote control

sit in either cockpit seat (the ones sitting vertically) and hit K, and go to the group *Control* and hit "control"

@wrangellboy no worries, sir

@lugiathan this is also a cruiser. however, just because EVE has a ship called something doesn't mean it gets to define that name. where do you think their names came from? Orthrus is the brother of Cerberus
Nick_is_hraar 25 Jun, 2017 @ 6:45pm
I noticed that all of the cockpits that i found are no use for piloting at all due to the wierd camera angle they set you at along with not having anything in their toolbars.
.Is there another cockpit somewhere?
wrangellboy 25 Jun, 2017 @ 3:51pm
did'nt realize sorry:steamsad:
Athena 25 Jun, 2017 @ 3:47pm
But the Orthrus is a Cruiser!
Lord Commissar  [author] 25 Jun, 2017 @ 3:04pm
@ Nick_is_hraar there are two

@ wrangellboy there are no mods. that is what is meant by "Vanilla"
wrangellboy 25 Jun, 2017 @ 1:57pm
what mods are there?
Nick_is_hraar 25 Jun, 2017 @ 1:28pm
just one question, is there a jump drive in this?
Lord Commissar  [author] 25 Jun, 2017 @ 6:23am
the ship was built to demonstrate some basic methods with which i build ships, as i produced a youtube series on its construction process. therefore, i wasn't setting out to do anything elaborate and i don't consider it my best work. but as a Guard vessel, it's going to be basic. it's just there to patrol, tackle, and send out boarding craft. it fulfills its function, and that's what matters.

at any rate, thank you for your comment. it's always nice to know who's giving me those bad ratings.
Megalodon... come back 24 Jun, 2017 @ 9:03pm
Корабль снаружи - говно. Он внутри сделан лучше. У меня 1 вопрос: как эта хуйня оказалась в топе???
emerion 24 Jun, 2017 @ 11:25am
Orthrus, Bantam, remember something like guristas and caldari
DSD 24 Jun, 2017 @ 10:04am
love the hydra turrets btw.
wish my game worked so i could play this ;(
Lord Commissar  [author] 24 Jun, 2017 @ 6:58am
it follows more from the trend of my Ketos and Sabiroid ships, but I do enjoy JLAM's work and the resemblence it has towards Star Wars ships. this would be something of a step in that direction as well.

@dastormdrago iirc, about 100 blocks

looks strangely to the Colonia-class Heavy transport of JLAM ^^ https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=746387097
DSD 24 Jun, 2017 @ 1:10am
how long is it?
Lord Commissar  [author] 23 Jun, 2017 @ 8:44pm
maroon is his color, you won't see it on my ships :P
JCapt 23 Jun, 2017 @ 8:06pm
I kinda agree with Whiplash... the maroon looks so much better than the green.... I think.

Other than that, I like the idea/design.
Lord Commissar  [author] 23 Jun, 2017 @ 5:30pm
@kequalizr glad you enjoyed the building. i've found the vertical was a bit awkward at first and still can be difficult when trying to fill up a hull's space, but in another sense it's actually rather convenient and i find it easier to include things like med bays and other stuff that require conveyor lines. certainly a nice challenge, though, and gives a much more space-faring feel overall

@whiplash are you upset about the lack of maroon?
Whiplash141 23 Jun, 2017 @ 4:23pm
Is it sick? It looks awful green :P
Keq 23 Jun, 2017 @ 4:06pm
Amazing watched a few of you videos on building your cruiser you have inspired me to build a vertical layout
