As AoW4 gets published tomorrow, I probably won't spend much time with AoW3 for the next year. So it's very unlikely.

Sadly when mixed with the Racial Heritage Mod this messes up the Tigran Shredders.

What would really be great is an updated version that is compatible with both hero and unit mods. Like Hero development mod + Chivalrous Intentions
But i guess the time for AoW3 mods is somewhat over :(

Great to hear, you like the mod. The compatibility patches unfortunately only work with the standard EBM. (It would require new compatibility patches to use this mod as a basis.)

When I use this mod, all empire building mod compability patches tell me they miss the empire building mod. Are they not needed for this mod? (Decodence, Arsenal etc.)

Thank you for doing this mod! We enjoy it much and we don't like the changed hero advancement so it was a big help for us to get this variant of your work :)

The unit compatibility mod probably adds all the changes to heroes again and makes it thus incompatible. I just tested it with only the Hero Mod Compatibility active and could choose professions for my leader as well.

@Der Mentat So I experimented with this mod and found that the profession mod indeed worked, however I found that it only worked on Heroes and not the Leader them selves, some how the Profession is not available for the Big Guy/Gal in charge, so your leader doesn't get to chose a profession? That doesn't seem fair =) just thought I'll let you know...P.S. I was using the other Empire Building Mods, like the total conversion and unit compatibility, so I'm not sure if they bugged out the leader not having the professions to chose from or not, but just thought that info would help out any bug solving. =D Thanks

I can only say that this mod shouldn't be used in combination with the base mod (as pointed out in the description).

This version is specifically created to allow compatibility with the Hero Professions Mod (and similar mods), but for many other combinations it's not needed. (You should for example be able to use the base EBM together with the Hero Development Mod.)

So in many cases the base EBM is the better choice.

So... some mods have compat patches, like Legendary Heroes, which require the base mod - but then some mods don't, and would seem to require this version... it is a conundrum :D

(I'm having late-game crashes and can't continue game; trying to find cause.)

This compatibility version doesn't include the Frostling Valkyrie and other small changes (the most important ones are listed in the changelog of the EBM). Unlike the other compatibility mods this mod is unfortunately extremely difficult to upgrade and it would be even easier to create a new version 3.0...

Hi, you did update the normal EBM in 2018, this one seems to have had its last update in 2017... are there any relevant features / updates missing from this version compared to your normal one?

Yeah, if you want to use other compatibility mods you need the base EBM. Unfortunately there's no easy way I could change this (these small mods were created with the main EBM as a foundation, so it can't be replaced anymore).

I tried to use Option #1 (EBM Hero Compatibility Mod 2.0 + Hero Development Mod + Hero Professions Mod) but my game won't start because other mods require EMB. They aren't recognizing this mod as the base EBM. Since you can't run this mod and the base mod together, I can't use the other mods with this. Sort of odd... The other mods are Legendary Units, New Arsenal, Decodence, Empire Building Mod Conversion and New features. Is this an issue with those mods only recognizing the base EBM mod?

Thanks for the feedback, although I'm really surprised that there's something in the compatibility version that overwrites parts of the hero professions mod. Might be able to fix this eventually...

Also I've notice that the Mod Racial Watch Towers doesn't work with your EBM.

@Der Mentat well option one doesn't contain the Hero Profession Mod with EBM and Hero Development Mod, even with EBM 2.0 doesn't seem to have the Hero Profession Mod in, but it's cool if it does not have a compatible patch for it, I'll just have to play without the Hero Profession Mod. Either way all of those mods are fun. =D

Actually this mod should already be fully compatible with Hero Professions Mod. But this is done by removing all hero related changes from the EBM.

There are basically two options:

1. EBM Hero Compatibility + Hero Development (+ Hero Professions): This contains all hero uprgades from Eomolchs mods but the EBM hero upgrades are removed.

2. EBM (main version) + Hero Development: You get the skills from both mods but some may appear multiple times (this might be unbalanced).
Hero Professions is not compatible in this case. I don't think there's a way to get a compatibility mod without creating every single hero upgrade again, so I'm not planning to do this.

@Der Mentat, is there a plan for making a patch compatible with Hero Profession Mod? I really enjoy the Hero Development and Hero Profession Mods, and I saw that the Hero Development mod had a patch for your cool Empire Building Mod which I also like but I wish the 3 mods can co-exist with each other. Any plans for that Hero Profession Mod any time soon?

I see, thats good clarification to have, thank you. Im afraid that I was incomplete before, because my intention was to use all his hero mod adaptions with this. However knowing that I can use some of them may be the balance im looking for...

I don't think this mod will work with the legendary units patch. You could however combine legendary units (with compatibility patch), hero development mod and the main empire building mod. AFAIK the empire building mod and the hero development mod don't conflict, only the empire building mod and the hero professions mod do.

I know this mod hasn't been commented on in a while but I had a question. I noticed that there was a legendary units patch for the non-light version of this mod. My hope is to use legendary units, this mod, and the hero development mod. Is this mod compatible with legendary units with the origional patch? Thanks for the help.

Great to hear you like the mod, Emperor Jarin. As you probably read in the comments the upkeep change is mostly intended as a compensation, because you can get a much higher income in the later stages of the game through bulding markets and trading centers...

I did some digging in your EBM comments, and discovered that you had made the upkeep changes a while ago, but didn't comment about them here or in the front page of your main mod. At least I now know that it's WAD.

Other than being confused at the upkeep, I'm really digging the mod. New racial units are awesome, and having a building that medals summoned units should have been in the base game. So far, I've only played around with a draconian necromancer, but sun chasers and legionnares make the race much more viable to function without other races' units. Thanks for the mod!

So, I just discovered that this mod causes all tier 2 and above units with a gold upkeep to have about 50% higher upkeep. Any way to fix that? I don't have any of the other empire compatibility mods installed, and disabling this mod specifically restores upkeep costs back to normal.

Hi Ragnin, most compatibility issues don't occure anyway if you use this mod instead of the original empire building mod because for the most part these conflicts are related to hero skills. So I think you can just use this mod and the balance mod without any addition.

Complete compatibility is only possible with the base mod though.

Is there any way to get this mod to work with your PBEM and Single Player Balance compatiblity patch?
Currenlty the PBEM patch requires the original Empire Building Mod be active in order to work.
Where as this mod requires that the orignial Empire Building Mod NOT be active to work right.

So when I try to load the game with the regular Empire Buiding NOT active I just get a message saying the PBEM requires it and then the game closes. Is there anyway around this problem or are the two patchs not compatible?

Unfortunately I can't make the additonal buildings available for Eomolchs Archon mod by just changing this mod. It would require a seperate compatibility mod instead. (And of course I would have to create Archon units for their Veterans Hall). I might do this in the future but atm it doesn't really have a high priority...

Awesome updates. It still doesn't provide the additional buildings like Market, Verteran's Hall, Trade Center, Sanctuary, etc whenever you play an Archon leader. Is that intentional?
