You are correct. If you would like to provide the files, I will definitely add you to a list of contributors. I personally don't think it is very noticeable, but I am sure it bothers some people.

I like the freedom this adds to flag design. Even just being able to swap the colors.

Two small issues I've noticed:
"vertical-90" is entirely redundant (identical to "horizontal" from vanilla).
Most of the inverts are blurry at the edges. I have fixed files for this in case you're interested.
