There really isn't an upper limit with how many mods you can use. I regularly have a ton of new civs mods activated. There is an issue with mod conflicts, but that's usually for bigger DLL mods isntead of new civilization mods.

A question tomatekh, how many civs can one activate in the mod selection screen?

Or does it screw up the mods you can choose/see in the advanced settings screen after loading them?

Yeah, I've been trying to find a fix, but it's out of my hands at the moment. If it's possible to play with a higher version of Direct x it should fix the problem, otherwise there's not much to be done at the moment.

All my civ mods have finally been upgraded to run with BNW. You can find them all on my collections page: Tomatekh’s New Civilizations (GK and BNW) . Now that the ground work is done, I will be attempting to upgrade the art, music, and balance patches for the civs. I will also be releasing new civs (for Brave New World only, sorry). Harappa has been added to the collection in first release form.

The Brave New World version can be found here here: Benin (Brave New World) .

Major update. Art has been completely redone. Trait has been completely redone. Code has been cleaned up.

There will probably be another minor update in near future to replace the UU icon art as well.
Tomatekh  [author] 17 Jan, 2013 @ 9:12pm
Okay, the update is still on track, I've just made it a more extensive overhaul than originally planned.

A bunch of the art has been re-done and Benin will have a completely new UA which gives the civ a more unified focus and feel.

It should be done in the near future. Sorry for the delay.

I'll have an update for the mod sometime next week. This update will also change the abilities somewhat as well as overall polish and stability.

Hi everyone, it seems the patch was just released. As with every patch, there may be compatibility issues with mods released prior. I’ll be checking and if necessary release an update for the mod within the week to ensure compatibility. In the meantime, if you notice any new problems since the patch, please post them here.

Don't you think the colors are too similiar to Austria's?
Wrath-Man 11 Oct, 2012 @ 5:33am
Ahh. Well, I'll just keep trying! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
Tomatekh  [author] 10 Oct, 2012 @ 10:05pm
Unfortunately, start priority is based off of terrain not resources, so there’s really nothing that can be done. Benin has the proper terrain focus in which those resources appear, but (especially with copper which is one of the rarer luxuries) there is no way to make them start with the resources near their capital.
Wrath-Man 10 Oct, 2012 @ 8:19pm
Just a note: I've tried about a dozen starts with Benin and have yet to find and copper or ivory at all, let alone any near me.

Looking forward to playing with this.

The portrait is also weird because its literally impossible to find good (and by that I simply mean high enough resolution) artwork for pre-colonial African leaders, so the choices are really limited. It took me forever just to find what I did! I actually made two versions of the leader stuff, though (They may both still be in the files). The problem is that neither really fit a style similiar to Civ V so I was undecided which to use and may switch them in an update. Their design wasn't so bad though, even if hyper stylized both at least resembled official Benin royal dress.

I am actually always looking for better art for my mods, though. So if anyone knows of some, please let me know and post the link here (or on my new civ page). It really would save me a lot of time and help my mods out.

Thanks for the feeback! I really appreciate it.

i think hes awesome. its probably lees popular because u need g+k. His portrait is weird but i guess africans wear red paint and neck bracers
Tomatekh  [author] 5 Oct, 2012 @ 9:29pm
So, of all my civs, Benin seems to be the least popular. Does anyone have any feedback? Do you guys not like the abilities (or Benin in general)? Please let me know so I can improve this and future mods.

Fixed the broken links in the description. Sorry I didn't notice them sooner.
Tomatekh  [author] 18 Sep, 2012 @ 2:33pm
Okay guys, I seemed to work out the problem and also get Modbuddy working. Benin should be back up.
Tomatekh  [author] 18 Sep, 2012 @ 8:45am
Ugh, sorry, there seems to be some problem with Steam Workshop at the moment. I'm working on it.
Tomatekh  [author] 18 Sep, 2012 @ 8:44am
Guys, sorry to release another update so quickly but there was a rare crash with the last graphic I used. I have since replaced it. There's probably no rush to update, so wait till you are done with your current game.
Garlic Pudding 15 Sep, 2012 @ 8:53am
New civs are always good.
Consider me a fan!
POTATIS 14 Sep, 2012 @ 9:45pm
Whoah! I've always been a big fan of your civilizations, and I've been waiting for this. This is best civ you have made. Thank you!

Looks very nice!
