The mod's purpose is to give you an extra option for a race choice. At the time I made this mod, many, many, many, many, many, many... -breath- many, many moons ago, there were just about zero high elf or orc (another mod I made) companions, and this addressed that issue.
I have no idea what's out there these days, as I haven't actively played Skyrim since probably 2014 or so. I'm considering getting back into it what with the Special Edition since I got that for free, but free time is a precious thing.
All that said, if high elves aren't your thing, there's plenty of other choices out there for you to download.
You've won the award for stupidest set of comments ever left on this mod in its history. You're not even correct in the sense that a wrong clock is right twice a day, nor does what you said make any sense and everyone here is stupider for having read the sentences that you barely were able to put together pheonetically and then slap your face repeatedly against the keyboard to type out.
The character is as dressed or undressed as you want her, nimrod. She was created with exactly that intent. If you're having a big problem with naked women in your game, that's because you put them there, whether you're smart enough to realize it or not. I'm assuming since you're talking so much shit on the internet with total strangers (hallmark of the toughest people for certain) that you yourself have a plethora of mods you have created that not only solve the issue you have with mine, but outdo it..... right?
No. The mod description above tells you where to find her.
@Pakin Firewalker
My mod does not cause a CTD. I don't see a mention of Apachii skyhair anywhere in your comment. The mod description above states that if you do not have Apachii Skyhair, the mod will crash your game. This is not because it is a bad or broken mod, it's because you did not install a required file, and when the mod calls for that file upon loading, and does not find it, it cannot go forward, and therefore dumps you back to your desktop. Read mod descriptions in the future, please.
Off the Nexus website, if the Nexus and / or Apachii still exists.
@Hobo
This is true; it was great when it came out, but even the last time I used it, it was obviously having issues. That said, though, I always got Apachii and other stuff to work. I think NMM doesn't like some setups.
If you'd even used the mod, you'd find out she appears in a regular cloth tunic in your game, and will equip whatever armor you give her. The armor she appears in in the pictures was what I put her in in MY game when I took the pictures in like.... 2012? It even says so in the damned description up there, let me quote it for you:
"She prefers light armors, but will wear whatever you tell her to. She comes equipped with a plain set of clothes and can be found in the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood."
You were too busy tripping over yourself to get offended that I guess you didn't see that.
If your computer is that old, it likely has a ton of garbage files on it. Try a freeware program like Wise Disk Cleaner which will detect all the old crap on your system and give you the option of deleting it. You could potentionally free up gigabytes of space.
The file requirement still stands though, because I want her to look a specific way.
Because when the game loads, it "calls" for the files in the hair meshes, etc, and if they're not there, the game crashes out. I've tried a few times while working on version 2 of this mod to find a more suitable vanilla hairstyle, but they all look completely god-awful. So, the requirement of needing ApachiiSkyhair still stands.
I am not sure why people detest the Nexus so much... it's a free site and they even provide you a top-quality mod manager for free that works far superior to the Steam installer. 99% of any mods I get from the Nexus are a point-and-click install, so long as you read the instructions and make sure you have the right file.
The recommended mods are most likely on the Nexus then. I've since moved onto better mods for my own game since publishing this originally. A quick search there should provide results.
@Pasta
I'm not sure if you're asking a question or making a statement.
@Demo
It's just basic leather armor, but from Killer Keo's collection.
If you're referring to the recommended mods I list, that are available on the Nexus, no, Nexus membership is free unless something's changed very, very recently. The Nexus Mod Manager is free as well.
I do. Wear them every day.
It's usually under Documents/My Games/Skyrim/Saves
@Dragonborne
Armor is from the Killer Keo collection. It's simply Leather armor with bits removed.
@Skyrim Rules
It's custom-set through the Creation Kit, which is what she was made with.
@Zero
Location is in the description above.
For those of you who have used a ton of mods on Skyrim, you should always remember the #1 rule of modding: BACK UP ALL YOUR SAVE FILES.
If you have put in a ton of mods that change body shapes, faces, face textures, "face overhaul" mods or other things like that, and have then uinstalled them, you will sometimes wind up with file fragments that will affect future mods.
I've been modding with Skyrim since its release, and I've reinstalled the entire game about three times now.[/b] Why? Because I messed it up with so many different mods. Mods are just that....Modifications.....they were never designed to be core files in the game. You are adding stuff in.
If you have your save files, this is no problem other than an hour or so of your time lost. Then you add back in only the mods that you know work fine and that you enjoy. Myself, I have a list of about 50 mods that I've been using a long time now, and I trust them.
Are you using the mod manager? Originally when I started using mods with Skyrim at its release, I was manually installing the mods, but I messed up alot and screwed up all my face textures, etc, eventually due to forgetting to remove every single file that came with a mod, etc.
Once I switched over to the Mod Manager, I didn't have any more issues since I didn't have to keep track of the files.
@MRK
No. Never had an issue. If you picked something up, It's likely you picked up something nasty from somewhere else on the web, or clicking a phising link on Facebook. You should be sure to install AdBlock Plus and update its definitions and blacklist, and use Avast or an Anti-Virus you trust that has Web Shields.
From my experience going on two years now, the Nexus is a stable, safe site that occasionally has bandwidth issues, if anything. They need faster servers. lol
Face textures did not install correctly when Steam installed the mod. If you look back through the comments here, you'll see this happens quite a bit with the Steam version... Steam just doesn't install the thing right.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling, or get the Nexus version.
I really should add this blurb to the description, it happens so often with the Steam verison.
Yes, the skin is white. As you'll see in the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online, there are High Elves with pinkish-white skin.
@VectorHD
Good question. :) My mod requires it because all the default high elf hairstyles were total crap.
@Bishop
Nothing wrong with the Nexus. I've been using mods from there since Skyrim was released and haven't ever had any privacy concerns or any other issues. Sometimes it seems like their servers are about to die from the massive load, but that's the only complaint I have.
WHY CAN'T SOMEONE MAKE THE APACHIISKYHAIR ON THE WORKSHOP??!!!
I'm sick of it.. seriously....
:P
Thanks for the kind comments, sir. Unfortunately, I haven't heard of anything like this happening before, but I will check into it and see if it is something I can reproduce.
@Dan
The face will differ depending on what mods you have installed. I'd recommend Ethereal Elven Overhaul, as by default, elves in Skyrim look completely god-awful.
