Can you greatly reduce brightness and radius of the torch/lantern in another version to make blend better with mods that make nights and cells significantly darker?

I found a lantern that works in Helgan. It's location is near the cart in the last part of the cave where the bear is . Right where the ncp gives you a bow to help shoot the bear.. Its name is the Quality Lantern. Hope this helps people that can't find them..

Must admit i like this mod a lot. Maybe a little over kill on the flame but the simplicity of this makes the game a little more stable than most mods. Thanks for this!

This is awesome. For some odd reason I had a lantern (useless vendor trash) in my inventory, I tried to equip it and I thought the mod was a fail, so I equipped a torch and saw the lantern in the place of the torch, in hand. OMG, I love it. Personally, I am glad you did it that way and not making major changes to things.

No, but there is a mod called Wearable Lanterns by Chesko. He pulled off what I couldn't, props to him!

So, can the flame be made a bit smaller? Lanterns were either candles or oil lamps inside

While you're at it, why not have an enchanted lanterns mod which is based off of this and acts like a staff for certain fire and frost based magics? A duplicate of Magelight which expells an ember from inside the lantern a ways?
Mosstone 13 Sep, 2015 @ 1:31pm
Huh, didn't think of doing that.

Buuuut it looks like you knew that already, I just noticed your comment on the other mod just now hah. This mod won't have any side effects when it comes to installing and uninstalling since all it does is overrides the model for the torch, and will revert when uninstalled. As for the recipe not being present, it probably has something to do with other mods that try to edit the same shop inventories, but I don't have enough knowledge about the creation kit to know for sure how it works.

The link at the bottom of the description for this mod is my most up to date version with adds the lanterns as craftable lanterns that don't interfere with torches. However it most likely won't work nicely with other mods that add torch objects like Wearable Lanterns.

Looks like I didn't update this mod's description to bring it up to date, I do have another mod that adds seperate lanterns instead of just replacing the torch's model. The only confliction this mod will have is that it makes all torches look like lanterns, so it will most likely only conflict with the craftable torches mod by making them still look like lanterns. I haven't done anything with my mods in quite a while so I don't know what other kind of conficts they might have these days. Chesko has done a really nice job with his Wearable Lanterns mod, and still keeps it up to date, so the conflictions are probably quite minimal if any.

Yeah, if you drop it and then reload the cell, the torches should become lit like normal torches, and will stay lit.

Kierad if you click the link at the bottom of the description it will take you to another version of my mod where i replaced all the lanterns with wieldable ones. I had other planned uses for those useless lanterns but I ran into a big problem where the type of object the lantern is isn't able to be crafted.

While you're on it, could you give a use to those empty lanterns that abound - perhaps work out some way to light them using paper, charcoal, or even dwarven oil, with a regular torch or magic flame?.If one is not keen to use the Atronach forge, these common items serve little purpose.

Great!
