Slippery Slope

Entertaining combination of moves, especially what Narkodes mentioned, but most importantly: the first in your history of maps I finally like in terms of DESIGN (since that's part of your name). It's not that cramped/crowded, but not too huge either. It's the perfect size. Maybe it also felt more epic because of the music ^^
Also, though its a gel map, every move felt intended, which is very important to me.
Funnily enough it was a pretty straight forward playthrough for me despite all the moves, which btw were nicely implemented here. So for me, and for experienced players in general I guess, it's a medium.
Thumbs up :-)
Minor issues: I'd vote for the ramp to be longer and less steep so the cube would slip across the fizzler more reliably, and a shortcut once the fling was successfully performed would be nice too ;-)

Very good map. I enjoyed it a lot, especially the two times when you have to coat the cube.

That was crazy fun. The hard part for me was figuring out how to get the gel on the cube.

Great map. Logical with just a bit too much tricky execution. Thanks for your work.

@Nobody No-One yeah, grating is pretty obnoxious if you play without at least 4x antialiasing. Overall good map for the evening, liked it a lot, but execution complexity is a bit higher than usual.

My 3 minutes: https://youtu.be/IFGSnzRSYuY holy crap that was unreliable. 5/10 (-1 for ninja).

Fantastic map! I had to peek on the walkthrough once because the idea that you could fling far enough to reach the button didn't even cross my mind. I guess I didn't figure out that the angle at which you enter the portal allowed you to do that. Apart from that, I had a blast solving it. There are some very clever moves in here, and that deserves a favourite! By the way, funny enough I'm working on a map that I'll most likely call 'Slippery' and that will have some similar moves. But I swear, I came up with it before playing this one xD

Very fun map. It's not too difficult, but I'm tired and it took me a really long time to figure out the fling to get to the area with the button that disables the fizzler . Thumbs up.

Also, I agree with Overwatch Voice that all the grating can be a bit annoying, especially with low graphics settings, but there's not much you can do about that.

It took me a few hours to realize the small white pixels that popped up behind millions of gratings were portable surfaces I could've reached the whole time, but the clever concepts that appear in the test chamber make up for it.

For some reason it took me forever to realize how to cover the cube for the first time , but after that it all followed quite naturally; well done! btw lightning fast gel o_O

It loves you too <3

Wow, that was a really brilliant puzzle, I enjoyed it so much! Thank you for making!

Brilliant puzzle with some clever ideas. It took me many attempts before I got the right velocity so the gel covered the lead up to the second ramp as well as the ramp, as opposed to too much so that it just coated the ramp and the final moves took longer than they should have :steamfacepalm:. Big thumbs up :steamhappy:.

ohh wow. what a puzzle. must be one of the best by you.
dire.fcs 22 Jul, 2017 @ 9:00pm
É um mapa de gel de velocidade interessante; é mais fácil de solucionar quando nos apercebemos do verdadeiro uso do cubo no mapa. Diria dificuldade média.
HugoBDesigner  [author] 17 Jul, 2017 @ 7:42am
Oh, I see. Well, it seems quite hard to pull off and it's obviously unintended, so I won't fix it, not to mention I'd have to redesign the whole puzzle layout to fit that change. But still, thanks for letting me know!
SunnyOst 17 Jul, 2017 @ 7:09am
Oh, just watched LB's playthrough. Apparently, placing the cube on big white floor, flying up and down between two portals near it and throwing it over the water isn't intended... Who would have guessed :D
HugoBDesigner  [author] 17 Jul, 2017 @ 6:14am
Thanks, Sunny! How did you solve it in order to skip it? I'm actually curious ;)
SunnyOst 17 Jul, 2017 @ 5:47am
Didn't use the button with underwater antline, but nice map ;)
HugoBDesigner  [author] 15 Jul, 2017 @ 8:44am
Thanks for playing, dcook! I'm glad you enjoyed this map! I've learned with this map that a couple of its move can be harder to pull off than I though. Since they're vital to the solution, I can't "fix" them, but I'll keep them in mind for future maps :)
dcook 15 Jul, 2017 @ 6:07am
Wowwwwwww Fantastic... got as far as seein lp floundering around with a coated cube and then the solution of how to get to the other side to the fizzler button came to me.(not an easy tactic for me had to try about 7 times to get it right) nice use of gel and acceleration. tried unsuccesfully a rather tedious option to get the cube in its final resting place... after doing that the final solutin was so simple I had to laugh... I had already thought of it just thought too quickly... Really fantastic map and thinking exercise.... Thanks for mapping
dcook 15 Jul, 2017 @ 5:16am
ok... figured out how to coat the cube... I watched enough of LBs vid to see how he did it. (the uninteneded way) Realized I was on the right track on an earlier playthrough. Theres definitly a reason the cube dropper is located where it is. Coated when respawned This is a Great map! now to figure out how to get the cube to the button with the strafe move now disabled... onwards! :-)

Nice update! Funny thing is, on my blind play of the original version, I would have been
prepared for that addition. :))
Krzyhau 12 Jul, 2017 @ 5:18am
I'm pretty sure that's a correct solution https://youtu.be/5acBJVQiiIk
HugoBDesigner  [author] 11 Jul, 2017 @ 8:50pm
Thanks, jgaultney! I'm updating the map right now, which will also change the intended solution, so if you fancy a replay, it'll be significantly different (maybe a bit harder as well).
EDIT: Decided to just tweak the final move slightly, instead of the complete puzzle overhaul I was planning. You may want to try it again later, but it shouldn't be necessary.
jgaultney 11 Jul, 2017 @ 7:27pm
A very good gel map! I spent most (80%) of my time getting the cube on the button
near the gel dropper
. After that it was pretty smooth sailing. :)
Thumbs up and favorited.
HugoBDesigner  [author] 11 Jul, 2017 @ 4:27pm
@Nui♥Harime™ Thanks! I was aware of that though, but it still does its job: the small dropplets can already spread gel at the start of the runway, something the top dropper alone couldn't do reliably.

Great Test! I finished 90% of the test myself, and I found the OCC. It got frustrating at the end trying to get the gel on the ramp, but that was my only problem.
