mean, case in point, dual wielded handguns, dual wield melee, MEC Troopers, SHIVs, Jetpacks, Cybernetics...
All of that was only possible thanks to WoTC modding tools, Int. "plain WoTC" doesn't get borining because it's infinitely more moddable than Vanilla is. Long Warriors are a tiny minority of the community, and you'll just have to deal with the fact most everyone moved on. it sucks, but you play the mission you're given, or you don't play at all.
that's XCOM, baby.
you guys are a small but vocal minority.
one of the main probs why we'll likely never see a LWoTC is Pavonis were a close-knit group. While the XCOM 2 modding community tends to be a fairly decent bunch, the phrase "too many cooks spoil the broth" comes into effect, specially when you have people wanting to remove something about LW2 they disliked which someone else liked and so on.
did check to see if the LW2 version was still around, it's possible it was adapted into the WoTC version, if there ever was a LW2 one, but i do distinctly remember fighting them in LW2. It's entirely possible i kept using this mod despite the apparent incompatibility (which is something you guys could test with a pre-sub save, and yes, you could still test it on an Ironman run by just physically backing your save up out of the directory).
this'll get done eventually. just give the man time.
Cut them some slack. They aren't a huge development house with a multi-million dollar budget; they use a small team of people & focus on the fundamentals of play rather than presentation. Part of the playtesting for XCOM & XCOM 2 was literally done with paper mock-ups in Sid Meier's living room over the course of a few afternoons, so the devs could nail down making XCOM fun before any visual elements even came into it at all.
The QA does need to be tighter; at the same time, we need to understand that the coders / artists / producer are doing absolutely heroic work with limited resources.
Im happy that you will consider them when the time comes to actually make the aliens.
As for your creative differences, thats perfectly fine, its your modpack after all, but I am glad that the document will provide help. That was my goal when writing it, to provide some sort of blueprint.
One question though, since I dont know much about creating meshes and skins, I may have gotten a bit overambitious with the skins.
How possible do you think making the armor (sectoid psi armor, viper armor with the visor, goliath berserker power armor, Prefect's modernized muton elite armor with cape, etc) for the aliens could be?
I know that the colossus is probably impossible to make.
For example, this is the Advent Trooper's spawn weights:
LeaderLevelSpawnWeights=(MinForceLevel=1, MaxForceLevel=6, SpawnWeight=8.5, MaxAlertSpawnWeight=9)
FollowerLevelSpawnWeights=(MinForceLevel=1, MaxForceLevel=6, SpawnWeight=17, MaxAlertSpawnWeight=9)
Actually since you are playing with Spectrum it would be more useful to look at Spectrum's .ini files, but you'd have to look for those yourself.
steamapps\workshop\content\268500\974478357\Config inside XcomGameData_CharacterStats.ini
Increase the spawn weights, look for these lines:
+LeaderLevelSpawnWeights=(MinForceLevel=99, MaxForceLevel=98, SpawnWeight=0, MaxAlertSpawnWeight=0)
+FollowerLevelSpawnWeights=(MinForceLevel=2, MaxForceLevel=7, SpawnWeight=12, MaxAlertSpawnWeight=7)
@Eduardo:
Gave it a read, i don't have an interesting response though, i like some ideas, i don't like others. For example i already have in mind what kind of weapons T4 aliens would use and it's different to yours, and you also say Xcom wouldn't get to use the new alien stuff but i try to adhere to the rule that whatever the enemy gets, Xcom also gets. I'll keep it around for when i get to the ayylmaos and see what ideas i can implement though.
Take all the time that you need, I admit that the paper is very long lol.
Some of the stuff included may be too difficult to make (mainly the new alien looks), but hopefully not impossible.
Wow you went all out, i'll give it a look later.

Alright its out, feel free to check it out. Hopefully the aliens are not exceedingly difficult to create in a future mod. Hope you like them :)
Though I will warn you that I made them very challenging.
