Great concept. I know what to do, but unfortunately my mouse-portal-shooting dexterity is not up to it.

Thanks for trying out my maps GodFather, others I think you'll enjoy are my Restricted series, and Misdirection. Shift is a neat concept as well.

The whole collection is quite nice, but this one was the most fun so far. Even once you figure out the solution you still need good timing and accuracy, but well within reason, nothing unfair or random.

I had never thought of using paint bombs that way. Kudos!

My first instinct was to try the solution that @LPChip described, but then I saw the intended solution, and noticed that was easier to do.

And WOW was that some reflex skills or what! The intended solution is borderline ninja.

Not an "exact" copy, his is better. But I got the inspiration from him for sure.

It's working. If you would have played the map by Mevious you would have figured it out in one minute. It's an exact copy of the mechanic.
LPChip 17 Oct, 2012 @ 2:56pm
Then something is not working, it seems...

@LPChip

I never put in useless things in my maps.
LPChip 17 Oct, 2012 @ 2:50pm
Really! This seemed like the only way possible. I bet it has something to do with that small angled platform, but when I portalled there, and the blob went through, it hit the ceiling, so I dismissed that as required.

@LPChip, thanks for trying all my maps, I'll be sure to return the favor. However the solution you typed up for this map is unintended, I actually tested that exact way many times and couldn't get it to work so I figured I was safe. The intended solution requires a small amount of quick portaling, but nothing like that, and once you've done it, you've got all the time in the world to stroll to the button. Only one blob needed.

But thank you, I'll be sure to make a change.

I didn't like this map that much. I managed to beat it, but it seems Ninja to me to do so.

I might've done it using the wrong solution, but it seems to be the only one.

First shoot a portal under the gel, and at the end of the faithplate trajectory. Press the button to get the blue gel, and walk to the button as soon as possible. While doing so, shoot a portal above the faithplate as soon as the blue gel goes through the portals, and it will drop another blob of gel. This gives you really just enough time to get on the button. Turn around quickly and shoot your portal on the funnel. Now you can relax, the blob goes in an infinite loop.

good puzzle.
con's:
timer very short. (major issue for me)
pro's:
good puzzle,
good combination of elements working together well,
good lighting,
good design.
apart from timer, solution great.
please try my map:
"a simple turret problem 4-rise of the machine"

ps.
if you extended the timer,
you could have the button cause the area the faithplaite sends to, become non-portable,
with a flip panel, to stop unintended solutions.
would that work ?
anyway your map, your choice:)
it might help your ratings, if more people can complete it.

Cool map. Once again the timing almost stopped me. I just barely made it. It took some thinking but even when you get it you haven't got it yet. great work.
Moth  [author] 3 Oct, 2012 @ 2:38pm
Yes, it's using just the PTI. No hammer involved.
maddn86 3 Oct, 2012 @ 1:47pm
I had no idea that this was even possible. As someone who has no clue what might be possible with Hammer, I have to ask: Is a blob bouncing off of a faith plate an original game mechanic If so, your map has managed to teach me something about this game after hundreds of played comunity maps.
Black Mantha 2 Oct, 2012 @ 6:55am
Nice and hard, but a bit finicky to pull off once you figure out who.
.sheridan .vespo 30 Sep, 2012 @ 4:32am
Sorry, I can't solve it. If the idea was to have a blob of gel to go in an infinte loop over the faith plate until you got to the button, then it is not working If that was not the idea, then I am stumped.
Lt. Zipper 26 Sep, 2012 @ 11:29pm
That was very nice.. I like the timing factor
