Pros:
• Clean design;
• Aesthetically pleasing;

Cons:
• Pad flings can be fussy if you don't know to crouch, which in spite of having played in excess of 300 maps... I didn't;
• Spending half an hour contriving solutions, only to realize the answer was something far simplier you thought you already tried;

Very nice short map :)
Could you please confirm that you do not need red button with angled panel to solve it ? I did it that way but I am not sure that it is intended solution.

Ah, I see...watching your demo, you are portaling way faster than I can turn my mouse. I'm seriously considering re-installing fresh to see if it helps my sudden lag issues.

When you say grating, we're talking about the grating over the wall straight across from the entrance? Yeah, I was puzzling over that too. I assumed the button and panel were a red herring, though. To be fair, I only solved it in my head, I never could portal fast enough to do it, but I was thinking it went as others describe.

Toncica heard me say something couldn't be done, and came running! :D I'll believe you then.

Won't you confirm what is intended and what not? It's strange to have a button and an angled panel that are not used at all. This is how I do it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16159596/portalnerd.dem

@ Raemari there is a way.
Portalnerd  [author] 24 Sep, 2012 @ 2:13pm
the grating is there so you can not fling to the exit

@Reamari, there's always a way to portal to the other side. But I'd really like to know what the intended solution is. Nothing I or the others did can be the correct way or is the grating and the glass only there to confuse us?

There is one hitch I found in the map. If you get to the other side of the room, get the cube to drop, but accidentally eliminate your portal in the first room, there is no way to get it back (because of the fizzler that is activated at the time of the cube dropping), and therefore no way to solve the puzzle. The only way to start again, is to restart the puzzle. It's not a huge hassle at that point, but if you could avoid the reload it would be better.

I did the same except I did not use the button that activates the angled panel. While going to the other side using the faith plate, I looked back and left a portal where the cube button is.

What I did :
- Place the cube on the button that activate the angled pannel
- Fly through this pannel and portal on the other side of the fizzler during the fling
- Now you have one portal on each side, use them to place the cube on the cube button
- Place your portals on the two angled pannels on this isde of the fizzler (where is the cube button)
- Fly through them with the faith plate (crouched)
- Just after you go through the portals, place one portal on the wall in front of the exit and the second one on the floor where you will fall
- The fling finish in front of the opened exit ^^

thanks for testing could you just tell me how you solved it so I didn't miss anything when playtesting?
Geneosis 22 Sep, 2012 @ 11:37am
Well, that was a really cool and compact puzzle ^^ Anyway the last fling will not work if you are not crouched... Maybe move the ceiling a bit upper to avoid that the player knock on it during the fling ;)

Cool
