RISE OF KINGS: CHRONICLES
Without further ado, I introduce my mod: Rise of Kings: Chronicles.

This is the original Rise of Kings as compiled and completed as late as 2015, started by me as well as the man behind Kings & Conquerors ... The ultimate mediaeval history experience for RoN.
You can now download it from these links:

You can also download this mod through the Workshop, via https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=877961394

Allow me to introduce myself further.

I am one of the artists working on Kings & Conquerors: The Hellenistic Era, and some of my work has also been featured in A Wrong Turn. You will probably know me through my two handles, either this one or through my association, Beelim Solutions.

I am very excited to play this mod! My first foray into the game went well and so I hope it gets uploaded onto workshop soon!

Question though, I downloaded a version earlier that allowed me to set the mod up for an online game. It has since been removed from workshop. The version I downloaded from moddb can only work for single player games. Is there something I am missing?

Also, is there a faction conversion sheet so I know what factions are what? I tried France and it somehow was the HRE.

Thank you though for this awesome mod!

Okay,
I had problems earlier on trying to update the mod. When I tried to do so, for some reason Workshop chose to duplicate my content despite my best efforts so I had to delete all my mods, and start afresh.
If I may ask, does this version still work and can it help set up multiplayer games?

We have a "tribe mask" listing on our official Wiki at this page

http://riseofkings.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Rise_of_Kings/Factions

You can use this as a quick reference card to guess which factions go where.

I just tested to see whether the mod from moddb would show on my multiplayer game and it would not. After clicking custom, the only thing that would work was my population increase mod. When I would boot up a solo game, I would find the mod playable and it would say "Rise of Kings 1.5". I believe when I tried to look at it for multiplayer yesterday, it would show up as "Rise of Kings: Chronicles 1.5".

So as of this time, I think it only works for single player games. I ran it for a little bit and worked fine for me.

And thank you! I was looking for that! :)
If I remember correctly individual machines involved in multiplayer games must hve the mod installed, so that means if you have one, then your other members must also have the same.
Sadly my knowledge of how RoN works is confined solely to TaP, Steam is a format I am still trying to master.

I think that still stands for steam. But the game does not even show me the mod as an option for multiplayer. So maybe there is a setting that is currently unavailable?

This is very strange, because I was able to access the mod (I blocked the Patreon plugin version to isolate the Workshop-only content) - I went to LAN or Direct Internet, created a new game and then it gave me the option to insert the mod. Too bad, custom scripts are not allowed. Bummer.

This is what I think is going on.

The first version, the plugin version you downloaded from Patreon, cannot be used for multiplayer.
So the second version - the Workshop version - is the only one that will register in my machine. I don't know about any settings or whatnot, but this is just a hunch. I have updated the workshop file so as to display the mod which for some reason or the other was hidden.

Right now I am running some modding experiments. Once complete I guss I will have to update both plugin and Workshop content.......

So we played a few games and each time, maybe within 20 minutes, we would have an out of sync error. Do you have any tips on how to mitigate this issue?

An out of sync error? I don't know if I can solve this because I am not sure if it's a mod-based issue. Can you confirm that both parties had the same mod files?
I am sorry I am of very little help, because I hd originally planned this to be for CtW single player not multiplayer.

So I checked with my friends, yes we had all the same mod files as we had downloaded straight from the Workshop location that you had posted. And it is all good, if it won't work multiplayer, then single player fine for this game. Its really enjoyable and I fun!

Okay,
Were the crashes 100% all the time? can you tell me how many players were involved and what factions were used for each game? if you can do this then maybe I can try and isolate the issue but truth be told my experience does not extend to multiplayer.

Well.........there is a slew of new mods about to hit Steam. You can see them from my Patreon page. Since you say there are issues regarding multiplayer and that is the main reason people play on Steam I must consider this in the future.

The crashes were 100% everytime. They would start around 15 minutes into the game where the desync error would appear. It would attempt to fix it but then it would just not work.

I picked the English/British(in the mod). I cannot recall what my friends picked because they picked a different faction each time.

Ah, well is there an error report that I might be able to send to you? I used to play this game when I was in high school but havent played much of the new version on steam.

Have you had problems similar to this previously? to be honest I am afraid I can do very little.
Is it possible for you to use the plugin version for Steam instead of the Workshop edition?
I got a bug from Age of Darkness which resulted in my game freezing. If you can tell me what factions you were playing and if your finishing a unit production building caused the freeze, please let me know so I can track down the bug.

I am currently testing new anims for Blender, so I am not working on this mod, but I will be updating it if only the code, very soon.
