Hisi's newest Semi-Insane Map(s)
Standalone Maps that have no continuity

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=855044445
First ever made map. Medium in size, it's simple and has way too many illegal shortcuts you can take to quickly finish it. Basically a map made more like an experiment to learn how the editor worked rather than a true challenge.

I don't even... Feel free to leave a comment or something.
A virtual cookie and a pat on the back for those who can get an S on this monstrosity.
(AKA the pinnacle of Hisi's madness. Trying to top this one, but so far, nothing is coming close to this)

Another no detection/no kills solo map where you have no techniques, and where the streets are quite narrow (with lots of guards and lights)

Maps with a chronological order (if you care about the story associated with them)

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=858814500
Came before "Requiem of the Wraiths", but it's almost as mad as that one because you get very little shadows to hide in (and there were even less before it got fixed).

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=875214662
A city has multiple paths, rooftops included, so you can approach this from different angles. I'm quite proud of this map, although I wish the mist was a bit higher than that, but again, can't always have everything you want.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=883173185
Nothing like Requiem of the Wraiths, but enjoy nonetheless. Hopefully the map will not break on you (yes, it broke on me).

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=892478603
And... another map added. I feel it's a bit subpar compared to the previous ones, but meh, can't win them all. I hope you still have fun with it!

EDIT: Finally put an order to this thing for easier access.

... yes, you guessed it. In my defense, I've spent 3 hours trying to kill that damn guy without having corpse hiding skill leveled up.

At least that.

Ugh. I'll just make a video, gimme a bit of time here :)
DoomyDoom 1 6 Mar, 2017 @ 1:41pm
Well, here goes nothing. Might want to wait for a bit so YT processes the 1080p version, you definitely want to see juicy details. 720p is already up as I'm typing it.

I don't even... *sigh*
All that hard work and then people find a way to bypass it all...
Thanks for the video *goes to correct*

Sorry, but I couldn't help when I saw the description :steammocking:. Good news is, everything else seems to be rock solid. Those 2+ tile bamboo setups you use elsewhere do block reliably.

It was fun to traverse properly. Except trees constantly getting in the way when you try to aim down from toriis. It was not fun to realise that if you didn't level up your corpse hiding skill in campaign you were screwed, but that one's on me.

Corrected (thanks the cookies that you can correct a map after you've uploaded it). It should be blocked off well enough now.
Thing is... I never wanted to put so much bamboo all over the place, but guess I'll have to stick to it..

Yeh, at least until there's something better.

#1 thing to avoid is tree+wall+free tile combo, because that is 100% traversable (like the way I got to relic). If there are no free tiles (free meaning any object player can stand on), aragami will very likely get trapped forever (you can test it on targetable trees in your other working "walls").

And for blocking off the impassable bamboo perpendicular to the path (the ones I've jumped over and over), I guess it's necessary to make sure there is no targetable object + "standable space" combo (pretty sure bamboo is not the only answer, will check tomorrow) for the entire leap radius.

So I've realized. Now I've made a long enough line of bamboo/bushes/whatever.
Originally, it was an entire line of trees, tile after tile, but then my laptop started to really struggle and it was agonizing to work on it (even on very low resolution). Not to mention you REALLY couldn't see where you were heading half the time when you needed to cross the toriis..

Loved the shortcuts on this map they were fun =D but also challenging to pull off especially that one with a guard patrolling on other side.

Shortcuts used.

Also did a run without going over walls and took me about 20 minutes
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=878595329

Pretty longer the normal way and just as fun.

*long and suffering sigh*
I really want to give up on this, but there's that little obsessive part of me that says "Nuuu! You gotta close off all illegal routes!"
But glad you decided to go the normal way and take up to 20 minutes to finish. Making the level last that long was my goal.

Fixed.

Now I dare you find more shortcuts. I dare you!
(sorry, this has become way too personal now. lol)

Well I can finish it in less then 20 minutes no problem I was taking my time on that run exploring the level.

No wall skipping Legit 8 minutes 47 seconds

Still, it's a level that lasted more than a couple of minutes, even after you learn where things are and guards go.
I always try to reproduce the feeling of the original levels (exploration and complexity, not to mention length). Glad you like it. It means I'm doing something right, after all.

A fun fact, you have used a slightly different path than mine in many occasions, and it was interesting to see. (and I wish I was there to see those 23 fails. Even if it was just exploration, I'm sure I would have laughed myself dry)
