Solar radiation always killing you
The solar radiation always happens, any time in the day, even at night, and kills you without anything that can be done. Even if you hide in the poptent, there is no way to avoid it. This is really boring to the game. I think because of this, the game should be put to early acess, because this is a bad problem.

Build a habitat using the 'Outpost' or 'Modular' base parts. Each contains shielded base panels. Poptents won't provide radiation shielding unless you use a mod/addon from the workshop.

Would also suggest watching 'Meko Van's Take on Mars' series on Utube.

Just build a shielded edge from the modular base branch, place it on the ground and hide underneath.

Priority on building a shielded shelter that can wrap about East, West and Up - but using shielded floors is a good idea just incase. Also note on the poptent, must be on level surface to deploy but sometimes if you deploy it on the floor of a building you get killed getting into bed or bleeding through the poptent wall without your suit on so always save before taking off your suit or going to "sleep"

Unless you use a mod to achieve that, pop tent is not blocking radiation. This is by design. You need something stronger. If you're in the first mars missions (2&4) of the campaign, much of the wreckage will shield you. The interior section of the MML will shield you. The MDV in mission 6 will shield you. If there's a 'radiation shield', which is buildable in the 3d printers, between you and the sun, it will shield you.

I have encountered, once, solar radiation passing through the planet (i.e. at night). While clearly a bug, reproduction is a bit of a problem. It could be dependent on the pc hardware it runs on.

Hiding behind two lined up large resource tanks will do the trick as well. But who carries two of them around to stay away from radiation? ^^
