What source uses SFO for unit balancing?
I just tried the Steel Faith Overhaul mod and I was a bit irritated by the huge power difference between basic and elite units. Since the mod description says that its closer to lore I thought that would mean that it's closer to the tabletop game unit balancing-wise. But since the costs seemed somehow way off, I made some comparisons.

Men at Arms: 1 Gold/Model (SFO) vs. 6 Points/Model (Army Book)
Knights Errant: 4 Gold/Model (SFO) vs. 21 Points/Model (Army Book)
Knights of the Realm: 8 Gold/Model (SFO) vs. 25 Points/Model (Army Book)
Grail Knights: 30 Gold/Model (SFO) vs. 42 (Army Book)

If I now calculate the relative cost relationship of the knights to the men at arms I get this:

Knights Errant: 4x (SFO) vs. 3.5x (Army Book)
Knights of the Realm: 8x (SFO) vs. 4x (Army Book)
Grail Knights: 30x (SFO) vs. 7x (Army Book)

So while the Knights Errant are about 3 - 4 times as expensive like a MaA in both SFO and the army book, this seems to massively change for the elite units. In the army book the Grail Knights are about 7 times as expensive as a MaA while they are about 30 times as expensive in SFO. So a single Grail Knight in SFO technically would costs more than a Bretonnian lord in the army book.

So what basis does SFO use for the unit scaling? It's seems to be far away from the original tabletop game, so do they use books or the Age of Sigmar stats as inspiration?

He uses AoS, the army books stats, the army books lore, and how he feels the units should work.

Okay, so it's pretty much a free interpretation. Guessed that much.
