DoM has no sea, no beaches.

I tried to create an island by making a map with many lakes (which eventually come together), but there is little land left to build.

Here an example of absolutely flat land and 64 lakes.

Traders, raiders and immigrants can swim.

Animals can also ... and anyway it is possible to place the spawn areas within the island.

Lol, as someone commented, "That's dedication" indeed XD. I imagine a trader swimming in from the egde of the map tugging a donkey who is tugging the cart with goods. A good way to bring in some 50 uint of stone and 50 units of ore...

And then he finally gets there and you're like "No thanks dude, I already have plenty of wood." :p
