From which workshop entry do you talk?
I am subscribed to an ATR and it works on S gates.

i just check my atr 72 and 42 both say they require small gate

I checked it also both ATR42/72 have the small gate in the config , and it also works at me at any gate. (but i use it only for small gates)

well it says it requires a large gate only atr42 says minimum small

maybe it helps to unsubscribe the aTR72(aircraft mod) and subscribe it again , sometimes that helps

If i remember me right , the old atr72 has got your problem , but if you not update it , it could be that this is the problem. If that is the problem , that sunsubscribe/subscribe of your aTR72 aircraft mod should help :)
