Mod Support
I know Payload studio devs are really busy working on the multiplayer category of terratech at the moment but i think it would be great if eventually we as a community could get some sort of mod support in the workshop. I think this would be really beneficial to terratech in allowing the community to be creative in their own ways. I know something i'd be interested in would be to try code the old concept the devs had with the AI collecting and returning resources to and from a base.

If you are also interested in getting mod support for terratech i'd like to hear your ideas.
Thank you for reading and i hope the devs see this =)

We're very keen to add mod support to our game when the time is right :)

Awesome, I'm definitely going to be looking forward for that. Thanks for replying.

and i was very happy with the idea that mod support was never coming, so no thanks.

Edit: i just don't want to see a besiege 2, that`s all, and it will happen if you give this game mod support in any capacity.

I don't think so, if your not interested in mod support you wouldn't be forced to use them. The reason i think it is a good idea is because people (like me) who have coding experience and are really interested in the progression and future of this game may want to easily append content to the game.

Mod support is great for games as well, it allows for the community to be creative and help shape the game, Think of minecraft, Ark: Survival Evolved. Those games have mods associated with them and to be honest it has helped make them last longer which is great for the businesses who of which own the rights to the game (money wise). When it comes to businesses, they are looking for ways to enhance a product to appeal to more customers and make existing customers come back for more, mods would be the answer to attract new and existing customers back to the wonderful game called Terratech.

By no means am i saying TerraTech needs mods, But i think it will help the developers breathe and even take ideas from the community via pre-existing content from mods.

this is the same billshet argument people presented with besiege, besiege had potential and absolutley fokking died after getting mod support because of the dispartiy between vannila and modded and the lack of seperation, the playerbase vanished, the games ratings flumped, sales dashed and the game is nothing more than a husk of what it was. I value terratech too much to watch it happen again.

This game is not minecraft or ark, mod support was never intended for it (as was the case of besiege) the workshop keeps it alive (just like besiege) and mods provide extensive shortcuts and an unfair advantage over vannila players, which due to the simplicity of the steam workshop, cannot be permanently separated (Eg. you cannot have a vannila and modded workshop with entirely separate pages). If you want to destroy the reputation and viability of this game, please do pressurise the developers into adding mod support.

Good point, But besiege and Terratech are different games. Same as minecraft and ark. None of which are like Terratech but what im trying to say is, I can see Terratech mods being more useful considering it is a survival experience rather than level based.

Survival based games are better to mod.

Besides, Its payload studios game. They can restrict what we as consumers can modify and also how modding in terratech is implemented. If payload studios only wanted texture and mesh changes to the game then so be it.

i suppose, though as someone informed, the risk far outweighs any minor (if any) gains from pursing mod support, i dont exactly think its something that a majority of players, or potential buyers want, and it would be quite time intensive, given how buggy this game already is.
