Males and females are usually seperated in prisons because sexual assault is extremely common. Yes, it happens in single-sex prisons too, but putting a criminal in the same room with an opposite gender will have, uh, varied results. Also, prison pregnancy could become an issue.
Tl;dr sexual assault would be common, which is why you dont usually see multi-sex prisons.
If a modder still wants to do this, go ahead. I know this is just a game, I'm just sharing some facts that actually apply irl.
