The Warhammer series would be better suited. Plus ToB was abandoned by CA, so it feels anyway, so it would stay as clunky as ToB is now unless someone modded the hell out of it.
the only intepretation of a fantasy i've seen that didn't have giant foam halloween costume style armor and other impractically ornate armor with an artist's busywork horse manure strewn all about it, was witcher 2. but that style quickly changed in the third game and they want back to the old cliches.
fantasy and impractical ♥♥♥♥ is inseparable therefore i find it best to avoid it. i don't want to be subject to "fantasy", i want something that i can cross reference with historical sources and reconstructions. in things i do, even in entertainment and art, i want to be closer to truth, not further away from it.
