I know there was a problem with things in general taking longer to load, it could be that. On the same note it depends on how many mods you have in, plus any that add in color varients. I had quite a few downloaded myself, 300+ pages in creative, and had to give the game some time to load. That was before the last update, so it might be fixed. Just sharing what I know of it.
I'd try testing out the same and other outfits in the mod with the same character/race as before. Then use the character editor to change species to human and test the clothing out again. That would help check if it was a problem with the clothing model not meshing with the species mod.
If it isn't that then it could be items needed to load in. One way to check is load in and check your catalog. See if any items are left blank. Then, wait a few irl minutes near your catalog. Check again and see if the same items are now loaded and if there are any new blank spaces. Using this method with the info from my first post would help see if it is a loading problem.
I hope this has helped, if not there are a ton of knowledgeable people over on the official Discord server who would love to help you out.
