So, the map format that the game reads is the format that TurboPixelStudios came up with for their game - Reflex Arena. https://steamhost.cn/app/328070/Reflex_Arena/ is the Steam store page for it ($10 USD), and the game includes a fully featured map editor that is very easy to use. (I want to specify that I have no financial ties to the developers of Reflex, but I have supported the game with Youtube tutorials/demo reviews and community moderation - the developers gave me the thumbs-up to use their map format for this game so I could make use of custom maps)
If you look in your \SteamApps\common\FPSAimTrainer\FPSAimTrainer\maps\ folder, you could copy those maps directly to Reflex's maps folder and load them up, modify them, save them, and copy them back to FPS Aim Trainer. As a quick note, scenarios actually have a copy of the raw map data contained in them, so if you create a new map and scenario, then upload your scenario to the workshop, everything will just work for users even if they didn't have the map beforehand :).
As always, the community on Discord is pretty helpful, and there is a #mapping channel to ask questions in. https://discord.gg/Z8hGxnM
Edit: Stral made a guide for how to create maps without using Reflex. I haven't used it, but check that out too: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1353299801
