The 1:1 mod makes it so that chidren start working at 6 years old while the alternative version makes it so they at 7.
Though I have to say, this mod has completely changed my views on child labor and I'm now an avid supporter of it; ho, and the actual mod is also great too, forgot about that...

I'd recommend the alternative version. Original one changed other things affecting distances seen as valid for jobs, and apparently that's caused issues for some people since the last Banished patch. (check the date, pick the one published after Oct 2017.)

Hey, child labor is still practiced in much of the world, even now. Prefer it in a make believe game.
