Renaming/Copying an Encounter
There are a few encounters in one of my mods that I would like to rename and/or copy, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to do that.

Anyone know how?

Alright, thanks SlyNic. Could you give me instructions on which files to copy, as I haven't had much luck with it on my own? :)
This is by no means ideal... but it will save you time in having to make the encounters again.
  • Extract a new modding project from the ‘Hand of Fate 2 SDK’.
  • Navigate to the modding project that has the cards that you want to duplicate.
  • Follow this file path: HoF2_modding > Assets > Prefabs.
  • The Prefabs folder will have a variety of folders corresponding to the content of that mod.
  • I’d suggest that you copy this prefabs folder into your newly extracted project, and then delete what you do not need in the new mod, ie. it may have some equipment cards that you don’t want...
Next, you will have to make sure that the asset bundles are correct in the new modding project.
  • Open the new modding project and enter the card editor, clicking ‘Edit’ on the mod editor window.
  • Navigate to the ‘Mod’ tab and rename your mod.
  • To check that your asset bundles have been renamed correctly, jump into the unity editor and select one of your cards that was duplicated across to this new project. At the bottom of the selected card within the inspector, the bottom of the inspector should read with your newly named asset bundle.
  • You will be able to edit these cards through the card editor now...
Hope this helps!

There's a TITLE string, if you change that string the name that's shown to the player will change (The encounter's name will still be the same to you in the editor)

I've not had any luck creating a copy of one wholesale, so I don't have any suggestions on how to do that. I suspect it's possible from how the various AMBUSH cards look like they were constructed.

I know you can rename the title, it's mostly the name attached to the encounter card in the editor that bugs me. I've managed to copy everything in an encounter table to another encounter, but none of the variables or strings attached to them follow, so it ends up a pile of gibberish for the most part.

Hello, and thanks for the inquiry! There is no direct way of duplicating a copy of an existing encounter. If you're looking to use an encounter that you’ve made previously, you can make a copy of that encounter card locally in your project files through windows explorer, and then move it across to your new mod project. Hope this helps!

Copied everything from my mod over to a new version of the mod and uploaded it to the steam workshop. I'm testing it now, so far everything looks good!
