How to get Workshop Items to Work with your CtA Version
Step 1. Simply go to:
(your hardrive):\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\302670\
'Program Files (x86)' is generally the default location Steam will be installed, but it could vary.

Step 2. Once you see all the numbers, you can either go through them all to find the mod you're after, or you can go to the workshop page of the mod and in the URL there should be a bunch of numbers which you can copy paste into the file explorer URL.

Step 3. Now that you've found the mod you want to get working, simply find the mod.info file, open it, and change the min and max versions to the game version that you should see in the top left hand corner when you boot up the game.

A word of caution, this will only work for very basic mods or maps. Larger mods actually require rewriting due to change in vanilla games code after update.

A good example of what !_Aussie_! said is that if you did the above to the Galaxy At War demo, it would crash the game.

This should be stickied. when i first started with mods for CTA it took what seems forever to find that this was all i had to do for most mods. not the ones that would require updating due to vinilla game updates like !_Aussie_! mentioned.
