they would have to rework the engine alot to make it so realistic water wont be laggy. it would destroy alot of the progress they already done.

yeh, i have the same opinion... to survive, everyone need water.... other survivor games have, like subsistence.... i don't understand why not think about this...

They wern't even thinking about making planets when the game engine was designed. For them to push the engine this far has been a feat in itself.

even if devs may never add water to it... there are mods that adds really good imitations though.
and more to come ;)

Including that new update that broke the AI? Sucks. I don't get how making the world from Flat to a sphere breaks the AI, but okay.

Umm... The AI has been borked for a long time now. The newest update didn't have anything to do with that. And the update that brought us planets had nothing to do with the AI, in fact, AI came much later. Also, I fail to see how the AI has anything to do with why they can't add water to the game, which is what I was commenting on.

Lastly, If you're going to jump into the conversation, make sure that:

A.) you have your facts straight.

and

B.) you stick to the actual conversation.

In addition, the AI for animals is working fine (which is what the OP was asking about). The only AI that got completely trashed was the workers AI. So getting some animals to pull a cart and being able to tell them where to go is the component that isn't going to work till the devs fix the AI. Having animals randomly wander around would work (as it works for deer right now).

it is a fun water mod. but don't hopes up about getting vanilla game water. devs already responded several times and said it most likely wont be added.

Nice necro...

They could just make a new setting of world generation, that make water togglable in old worlds or even just enable them to fresh new generated worlds.
