Make 3rd person official
3rd person view needs to just be a normal part of the game. You have these gorgeous player models and don't get to fully appreciate how cool you look until you play in 3rd person. Add that option to the official game.

I reckon once they get around too white listing things a 3rd person mod will be a part of the QoL mod.

I wouldn't be so sure, its kind of on the borderline, since a 3rd person view does give certain slight advatages, so could see it not getting sanctioned, but agains it also might since the advatages are quite small, evne if they are there

lol the advantage means ♥♥♥♥ the range of depth of field is wayy different you have to get used to how far you attacks can actually hit it requires some skill this is from a player who played vm1 for 300hrs in thrid perosn only

I played a load of Left4Dead with my mates in 3rd person way back when and the new perspective made the game so much easier it was akin to cheating (which, considering we used console, it literally was.)

Playing in third person gives you a rather substantial extra awareness of what's happening around your character. Once you get used to the new perspective with regards to melee combat (which isn't a big deal nor very difficult) there is no downside to 3rd person, just upsides. 3rd person would become the "optimal" way to play. At the same time 3rd person view would decrease the emphasis on needing your allies to watch your back, as you now have a far better view of what's going around you and the literal ability to watch your own backside.

Doubt it will ever become an "official" part of the game for that reason (and you can play it in 3rd person "unofficially" as much as you'd like.)

........lol so you are agaisnt it ?? Thats cool your opinion was "ok" and playing it alot in unofficial is fine except NOONE PLAYS IT its empty 24/7 thats why we want it sanctioned so we can actullay enjoy it with other people..and I played l4d 2 also in third person and it was absolute ♥♥♥♥♥ the everything was floaty and not accurate at all it was actually better to play in first person ESPECIALLY when using melee

I don't care either way, actually. I play with friends only and reroll any quickplay related missions. I wouldn't be affected in any way and thus really don't have an opinion on yes or no.

I simply stated it changes the balance and feel of the game, one way or the other (whether you think it makes it easier, harder, or whatever is besides the point- the point being the perspective change affects game balance on some level by making some things harder/and/or easier) and that because of that it is unlikely to be 'sanctioned' officially. Devs (usually) don't play fast and loose with their game balance, no matter how trivial it may seem, and I'd be highly surprised if they'd decide to allocate their time to this over anything else.

-edit-
Out of the top of my head in a matter of seconds,

Does new 3rd person mode somehow make you crash your game in some weird, unexpected wtf way for that 0.1% of people that use computer setup X? (we all know they exist)

Does new 3rd person mode let you move your camera to see through walls or other stuff you're not supposed to be able to see?

Does new 3rd person mode make dodging easier and more powerful than intended because of the increased spacial awareness?

3 questions -and I'm sure there's many more- devs would want concrete answers on before slapping the "approved" sticker on something like this. That would require time. Time is money. Is 3rd person view worth dev's money? I'm sure you would think so. But would they?

3rd person view allows you to see behind you more than 1st person view? If so , strongly opposing this as its messing with the enemies ability to sneak up on you.

It does NOT allow you to see behind you I dont think any of these numbnuts have actually tried the 3rd person mod i have screenshots of it and the camera is strictly in FRONT of you i got downed alot in legend from random enemies hitting me in the back just like in first person..The whole thing behind 3rd person is it is a more cinematic point of veiw IN FRONT OF YOU it makes things harder as you need to be well versed in your weapons or you are going to be tkaing unnescessry damage from not knowing the distance to hit the target..this will NOT be a meta thing merely a side thing you have a CHOICE to use I guarantee you after a couple people use it most of them will want to stay in 1st person just like in the first game while that small group (like myself)will like strictly 3rd

+1 to third person. Those who say it provides an advantage have an invalid opinion, as third person is an option in most slashers, fantasy games, and dungeon runners.

Just hold X and you can get the same advantage right now, at least when it comes to peeking wall corners.
