Mega Corruption Spawner
CORRUPTION MEGA SPAWNER

I have taken entuland's original All Mobs Spawner (found HERE) and modified it to produce exclusively Corruption mobs & loot, on a massive scale. Credit for the initial design goes 100% to him!

My version is 4 claims (2x2), each with 4 floors; 16 spawn pads per floor, for a total of 256 individual spawn pads that produce every corruption mobs (except leafis -- but they don't offer any loot that is different from the other mobs), as well as diamond chests. As with entuland's originals, the spawner utilizes several teleporters to funnel all of the mobs into central traps, where you can easily (and safely) grab all of the loot.

The spawner is built out in the ocean, so there is minimal interference from outside spawns in surrounding claims. It is also completely enclosed, so it will produce mobs and chests at any time of day.

VIDEO GUIDES

Below are links to the 4 videos I made, to serve as instructions/advice/vlog on how to properly place and build this thing. The majority of any questions or issues you have about this build will probably be answered by watching them:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

EDIT: The fourth video in this series was victim of a fluke. The Youtube URL generator created a URL that the Steam forum filters do not like. As such, the forum filtered out part of the URL, breaking the link. I have re-uploaded the video, so it now has a new name and should work properly :-)

MATERIALS LIST

This is a quick-reference list of all the blocks you will need to build this spawner. "Stacks" refers to the number of 300-count stacks (rounded up) you will need.

EDIT: This thread (and the videos) are several months old, and there have been a few game updates since then. Some things have changed, such as stack size, so some of the references I make may no longer be 100% accurate. I consider these "cosmetic" differences. I am NOT going to re-shoot the videos just to cover those changes, so I have chosen not to change the info in the thread either, so that it is consistent with the videos.

Corrupted Dirt 28928 (97 stacks)
Corrupted Stone 28672 (96 stacks)
Limestone Wall 35280 (118 stacks)
Bedrock Wall 16316 (55 stacks)
Stone Ladder 293
Stone Fence 732
Stone Slab 4
Teleporter 69
LED 19
Water 8
Ice Bed 1

Limestone Wall and Bedrock Wall can be whatever crafted blocks you want; the Limestone forms the walls of the enclosure, and the bedrock forms the roof and trap platform. I picked these because they are simple to make, with common materials, and I like the look of the blocks. You can easily adapt it to your personal taste. Just make sure they ARE crafted blocks, or they will interfere with the spawns being generated.

There is a slight bit of overlap in terms of used materials between the Blue Prints.

NOTE: This blueprint can also be used to make an effective Lava Spawner. Just replace the Corrupted Dirt and Corrupted Stone with Hardened Lava and Igneous Rock! You will get spawns of Hotfoot, Warmworm, all Keepas, and Iron Chests. Of course, you will have to go kill the Warmworms yourself (since they do not move), but hey, it gives you something to do while you wait for all the other mobs to die, right? :-)

CAUTION: DO NOT tame Warmworms in the lava version of this spawner! The pet movement bug will eventually cause them to pop up on the roof or under the structure in the water, both of which are a pain to fix. Taming other mobs is fine, as long as you relocate them somewhere else after you tame them. Also, DO NOT use your Power Attack (gauntlet smash) if you have a Lumite Cell equipped -- unless you LIKE dealing with the consequences.

Great job!
And here we go with building this for the "FORTH" time :( Sucker for punishment I guess.

Obsolute MUST have for every world.

Apparently the forums broke one of the video links. I have re-uploaded the video and it should work now!

Just out of curiosity, what's the average yield per in game day night cycle?

An insane amount. LOL You can see the spawns happening even while the thing is under construction in my vids.

It varies a bit, because there are so many things that can spawn in corruption. But the 4-claim version is enough to fill a Pro backpack about 1 and a half times with the sheer variety of loot. A bit of that is useless recipes of course.

One of my worlds, I have a warehouse stuffed with everything that drops from corruption. The Diamond Armor, Swords, and Cells in particular take up a lot of room, since they don't stack. I have not had to craft any diamond gear since building this, and I use diamond exclusively, unless i specifically need lumite for something.

Basically, any mob-based resource I want out of corruption, it is well-met. Same thing goes for the lava spawner I built (on a now-defunct world). Between the corruption and lava spawners, I had plenty of iron as well. Chests are a rarer spawn, but all of the spawns in total are so voluminous, that it still works out.

And I cant stress this enough -- built out in the middle of the ocean so that 100% of the spawns are in your spawner and not somewhere off-screen being wasted.

Now the one caveat on spawns -- eventually you will reach a point where the spawns just stop, or they will slow to a trickle that is not worth the time. It usually happens after several resets; this is a thing that happens in creativerse period, whether in a spawner or "natural" biomes. This is almost always fixed by closing the client, wait a few mins, and log back in. In rare cases, you may have to reboot your computer entirely. Something about this process resets the spawn mechanic in CV. I theorize that the computer cache gets filled up (just like the memory leak with blueprints), and the client bogs down. It is also possible that it is a server-side inactivity reset of some sort. Regardless, this is nearly 100% guaranteed to fix it.

So TLDR: Just build it, trust me :) It will take a couple hours once you have all the mats gathered, but it is worth it.

Oh and on the worlds where I built this thing -- i dont even bother with pets from those biomes. Once the initial effort of building it is done, there is zero maintenance, unlike the constant upkeep for pets. And you get more resources overall from killed mobs than harvested tamed mobs, particularly keepas. And I NEVER have to chase a bugged-out pet using an auto-kill spawner :)

Once again, initial props go to entuland for figuring out how to take advantage of the mob pathing to build a better mouse trap. Also for all his initial work on block types and proportions on the multi-biome version.

Eheheheh, it's all a vicious circle of looking at what others do and find better / larger / crazier ways to exploit such facilities. I appreciate the credit but I must offload it myself to many other players that made past investigations and info available across the lifetime of the game and allowed people like you and me to "stand on giants' shoulders" so to speak :steamhappy:

Would coral work for the limestone and bedrock wall?

I'm going to make a giant brain, so I will have the coral farms anyway.
dmdnd1972 31 14 Jul, 2019 @ 6:02pm
Coral can spawn non-corruption mobs, so I wouldnt recommend it if you want to ONLY have corruption spawns. And some of those spawns would appear outside of the structure, so they would be doubly wasted. If you are not concerned with any of that, then go for it.
