On the inventory I think it's called Option 5 Camper van version and on the inventory picture it seems to have a wooden interior with a wooden table etc, so he's just trying to get the same interior. Forgive my ignorance, I don't play the game, just trying to help my son.

Yeah should be the same i try to label parts best i can, but option 5 is the only camper option the others are stock trim with different paint versions

my mods can be pretty complex but normally most parts are interchangeable its hard when we cant rename the parts to match

If the version he has used to have the old trim with seats he will see that in ghost form until he installs new camper body

There are some cars where you can't change specific parts of the body or the interior, if the car is parked on a lifter. So putting the car at one of the two garage entries should solve the problem.

My boy is on a mission to get a wooden interior in the camper but I think we need to change the body to do that.
We can remove all exterior items, windows, doors, lights bumpers etc but we can't seem to
change the body.
Any thoughts appreciated!

Just go in front of the bus so the whole body has a yellow line, than press the left mouse button until the body disappears. Now you can install the camper body with the wooden interior (right rear fender type e).

The problem is that the body doesn't go yellow, when I click on the body (standing in front, not on a lifter), the little circle spins green for a moment then nothing happens.
It's in body disassemble mode and I believe I have removed all the bits on the body (doors, windows etc).

Than it seems that there is a problem with the installation or game files in some way. Did you have checked the integretiy of the game files already?

Change your library to detail view, right click on car mechanic simulator 2018 and choose properties, than local files and pick "check data integrety"

Don't know the exactly phrases because I use german as GUI language ....sorry for that.

Game validated ok.

Just a last thought: There are two mods of the same car in the game, maybe both are installed and you try to change the body of the Fulysic T1 with the LIT T1? The LIT T1 did not have the possibility to change the body as a whole part.
