Modding Questions - MG Suppression/Squads/Movement
I am trying to get in to modding and have a few questions. For these questions I only need to know if what I am trying to do is possible - at this stage I have not even figured out how to mod the game and am just trying to decide whether it is worth learning. My modding experience is mainly based around company of heroes and command and conquer games. My questions:

1. Can machines guns be modded to pin enemy infantry down like in Company of Heroes?

2. Is it possible to make permanent squads (again, like Company of Heroes)? I find it annoying when I go to select my squad by clicking on a soldier but the result is I effectively remove him from the squad, to become is own unit.

3, Is it possible through coding (not animation/3D software) to change the way soldiers run? I don't really like the look of the soldiers with their rifles by their sides. Presumably there might be an option along the lines of:

Running_animation: SoldierRunF

which can be changed to:

Running_animation: SoldierRun_gun_ready

That is just an example of the kind of thing I am wondering about.

4. Can soldiers be made to walk (I have not played the game much)?

Basically I would like to make a mod where a small platoon of infantry patrol a large forest and are subjected to ambushes.
