Route queries
Hi there, does anyone know of any routes that cross moorland/mountainous scenery in england? Preferably not payware, but it can be fiction or non-fiction. Thanks in advance.

Not that many mountains in England but The Woodhead route crosses the Pennines. If Scotland is an option there is West Highland LIne and West Highland Line south along with The Kyle Line.

I've been following progress on this project:

It includes the Stainmore Line, which was once the highest line in England and of course crossed Pennine moorland.

It isn't available yet of course.

The Carlisle to Settle route is quite a hilly, moorland type of route... Also WCML North and WCML over Shap are a bit like that. Nothing in England comes close to the American mountain pass routes though so if that's what you're looking for, you're going to be disappointed.
