Modding Maps
Seriously, how do i make a simple quarter mile?

I have followed the really average map modding tutorial that comes with the game and have worked out Unity enough to get the track exported but can't seem to get it running.

I have set up the track to be just a huge asphalt plane with the car set at 0,0,0 a checkpoint at 0,0,0 for the start line, and one at 0,0,402 for the finish line (roughly 1/4 mile in meters).

I have managed to upload to the workshop as private, and then download the map into the game by subscribing to it in the workshop (seems like a roundabout way to get it into the game). My track appears in the workshop maps in game, but it does not have a title or thumbnail, and it doesn't load when i click it. All my other downloaded maps from other modders still run.

Anyone tried to mod maps and can give me some pointers? I really just want a simple quartermile map that can give me run times, doesn't have to be pretty...

check if everything is named correctly, the empty CarSpawnPosition needs to be 100% correct or it will not load, other than that i dont see a reason why it shouldnt load

Everything is named like in the modding.pdf (capitals where they should be and all). I have managed to finally load it in game but everything is purple, no checkpoints, and the car just drives off into the distance... before falling off the end of the plane (around 600m down the track or 3 meters to either side).

I have made the track public, i'm well aware that it will not win any awards, but hopefully this will prompt someone with a little more skill to have a crack at making a good version ;)

Thanks for your help guys.

been working on one for while but 2000 meter track with 400m check point and burnout pad

sorry had to mark yours as incompatiable as its not acceptable standard

Fair enough.

400m would be perfect as it roughly equiates to 1/4 mile, and would be a pretty decent estimation of how it would perform in the real world.

Keep us updated for when it's ready :)
