Plagiarism is frowned upon
Hello Barotrauma modders!

We love your work, and we hope you all also respect each other's work – so always give credit where credit is due.

We may hide clear-cut copies of other people's works and ask you to change them and/or give credit, where cases like this come to our attention. As a rule though, we'd love not to police too much, so we sincerely hope everyone who uses Barotrauma's workshop will voluntarily adhere to common courtesy & good conduct.

Ahoy dynamoon, a smoll complaint. It appears my Mod was taken advantage of whilst it is broken.

Unfortunately it's difficult for me to take any action based on so little infomation. Furthermore, while I may sometimes step in, I would prefer not to, and it would always be best if you as the mod's author could first write politely to whoever has posted an unauthorised copy. The less policing there has to be, the better it usually is for everyone! :) If you're not able to resolve a conflict with another user and need help, it may be better to reach out in private – you can see my profile for additional means of contacting me, if needed.

This species makes me laugh. There is literally no such thing as "originality" in the universe. I hope we get past this mine mine mine tribalism stage we are at at some point and just freely distribute things free of ego or possessiveness.

As it stands though the devs cannot "enforce" ownership for mods as technically they "own" all of the mods, not you.

would retrofits count as plagiarism as long as i say what ship i modified? i had recently started a small project or modifying the alicorn 2 by zyleand into the renegade series( currently the renegade 4. it has the same basic layout, but with a couple additions like a rear crew quarters, new paint job, ect.
