Hammer navigation: orbit selection

I can't seem to find this one and moving my whole map to see an object from a different angle (to place it) is starting to get real annoying.
In max and blender i can use orbit selection which let's you navigate around the selected object.
Having that in Hammer would make my day.

Yeah, it's a really useful feature. Hammer lets you orbit a set distance from the view with Alt + Left Mouse, and looking at the hotkey list, you can move the orbit origin to a point under the mouse cursor with Shift + Alt + A. It's not identical but it feels pretty good.
