Creating and working with asset packs
After making my first destination i learned a lot.
In fact it was a bit much to take in so many things start to seep in after i first noticed them.
One of these things are asset packs.

Am i correct to assume that instead of making a whole map i could create a separate asset pack (that others can use) and use that as a dependency for my own map ?
Will users be able to use let's say my fish, chairs and beers in their own maps then ?
Would this allow me to create smaller maps (like the remixes) whilst using only one asset pack instead of larger standalone maps ?

Just wondering and contemplating on allowing the community to use my models.

Yup, that is how it works. Anyone can set an asset pack as a dependency to theri map, and the assets will appear in the asset browser to use. And the workshop will even automatically subscribe to any dependencies.

Both setting up your original map as an asset pack and using an asstet pack-only add-on works, depending on if you want to limit which assets others can use or if you don't wish to subject your users to downloading a lot of map specific asstes for a different map.

I made the Range map into an asset pack, since most of the content consists of props and scripts that can be used in other maps.

Cheers, didn't know the whole map could be an asset pack as well. Not what i want though as people don't need the ground mesh or parts of the cabin i think. Cheers.
"And the workshop will even automatically subscribe to any dependencies." - That's good to know. I was afraid that people who visited my maps, without manually downloading dependencies, would be greeted by a bunch of bright red wire meshes and orange "X" explosions.
