Once you actually find the tracks corresponding to the music, you could then convert your music into the game format and done. Seems a bit silly to keep copies of the music in a seperate folder in three different formats when apprently the game completely ignores these folders but I suppose it's there for those who got the official soundtrack of the game?
Also, would doing this end up getting me banned or something? Is there a way to do this through Steam Workshop?
I haven't tried modding the audio files, I don't know if that would get picked up by the anticheat software. And maybe so! But keep in mind that if you use copyrighted music, Steam might not allow that in the Workshop.
I think the file that points to the music is "WwiseDefaultBank_WW_MUS".
Yeah, that's my biggest fear. I'm thinking of sending a little email to the devs asking if doing so would trip the system or something.
While that is possible, I don't think that applies to free mods. Like Cities: Skylines workshop having a variety of real-world stores and brands - and now radio stations - and there doesn't appear to be any issue. If it's a player-made mod, as in not part of the actual game, and if nobody is making money from it, then I -believe- it is okay.
Worse came to worse I could just upload it and make it private so at least I could listen to it or something, but the anti-cheat point you made is still a good point!
