Playing on hard, what does make good money at the start?

Hello guys, i am enjoying this game so much, i like openttd in a new form :D . i have played on easy and medium and now i am working my self up to playing on hard. I love the challage it give me, but its damn tough to make some that exctra cash so you can payoff the loan. (starting in 1870)
I am playing with 4x slower speed mod, just be curse i like to have some time of the driffernet peridoes we have in the game ( but just love the steam age! ) And also switch of the technology we do going from stream to diesel.

Anyways,main issues that I have, is that I do not get earned enough money to pay off the loan.
most of the routes i have established is in the food business. Farm - Factory- Town and make a network with horse. Also i dont expand to quickly by adding more hores to the route. i simes i that i make 50k over the yearly running cost and after like 10 years i have mabye earn to pay one share of the loan and 1.2 M.
I can't understand how you i should settup is it a bit frustrating, but a hell of challenage.
My main focus has been when i did go into the 1900s i replace the hores with streamtrucks and startup a trainline. but is harsh.

Well I have tried to play at hard too but it seems to me that no matter what you do you will never make enough money. Well i did achelly find a route that i make alot of money 345 - 400 K per year. After i did see some videos of Chringer63 / twitch. I saw how he was thinking. Try make a feigth stasjon near a city who has farm concted to a road and then start to ship up livestock, use some trucks to help you transfer some cows to the train, and then make a long trip to one of the food factorys. so the train not go empty handed home. it work really well, i am soon out of the dept :)
