[modding unit size] Stuttering
Hello guys

I'm making my very own first modification (based on the Radious mod) and I have been playing with the units sizes a little bit trying to emulate the approximate real number of soldier in each unit .

The army size of a full stack goes between 4200 and 8000 depending the faction.

The problem comes when more than 2 full stack armies meet in the battlefield, when units start to stutter and if more than 60 units are clashing at the same time, the soldiers stutter a lot.

Mi machine is a MSI gaming laptop:

i7-7820HK
GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5
8 GB ram

A friend of mine helped to test unit stutter in a custom battle but the result is more or less the same.

I am wondering about ordering another extra 8gb ram to get a total of 16GB but I don't know if it is worth to do such a thing if it is not going to make a difference when playing a compaign with my mate. The weird thing is that I see 3X unit size mod here in the workshop and people are happy with it, and I don't know if they are using beast machines or if it is me that I don't have a good computer.

I already used a graphic configuration that really helped the performance that I found here in the forum. But I want to run about 10K VS 10K men battles in a playable way.

Does anyone know what can/should I do?

Yeah total war games tend to stutter in large battles. The more men the more the game engine is taxed. Even with vanilla numbers the game stutters if you have too many units.

Sorry bud, but it is about CPU optimization and not graphics. So we can do nothing but expect that CA would do a better job with Rome 3 whenever it comes out (if it comes out at some point).

I will wait for a decent Medieval 3 maybe haha
