Creating skins

How can I create skins? I have looked at multiple guides on it and still have no idea how. Can someone give me a basic understanding? please!

I used a mixture of PartyFowls and Senobas. They're both on youtube.

Senoba's guide on YouTube covers everything you can do with the tools Circle 5 provides, but she doesn't talk about how to use any kind of paint software. To make sure you know everything you need to know, look at Senoba's guide AND another guide you can find easily on YouTube, there's an hour long guide for using Blender in the PC:E skin making context but imo it's quite crude (I'm saying it could be way shorter).
