Firearm choices inspired by both the exodus (where a literal plague liberated the israelites from egypt) and wwi/ii (where germany infamously used chemical weapons, and japan experimented on prisoners in regards to biological weapons). Weapon quality obviously poorer in response to the powerful anti-infantry abilities of the faction.
However, due to japanese export laws, it's unlikely that the faction would get its hands on military rifles from that country.
Russia also poisons a bunch of people.
