It is / was possible to mod such things with additional third party software - with activity manager players could change names in game. But this kind of modding is not officially supported by madruga and breaks with version updates of the game

The tools provided by madruga are linked in martino pinned guide. Have a look at the possibilities.

It is possible to create scenarios - with named people - players can't change them while playing.
It is also possible to link certain events to the death of certain important characters - I used that a lot for those 2 scenarios:
