I know I would like to see ships, and landing craft. As well as more fortifications to make maps with. As well as more fortifications to build DURING a game be cool to.
If you look for my screenshots you will see for yourself that I've had to make do. It's just not the same.
Ive also needed stuff for other maps and same thing... every thing is lacking. Im surprised so many "too me at least" obvious assets missing when should be here. I know people say game is focused on micro management.... but how does that really mean bunkers dont fit game? So many maps could use some fortifications of some types.
You can actually update mods yourself, if all that is out of date is the game version. For that one fortifcation mod I linked you in your other post, you would go to I believe steam/userdata/74698624
Then in there, one of those numbered files pertains to Call to Arms, look through there until you find the mod and in the mod.info file, you can simply switch the version that is in there to the current game version and it should then be up to date.
your going for a strictly DDay/Atlantic Wall type beach defense?
Cuz a modern beach defense would probably use those Hesco barriers and the bunkers that are in the military section of the editor. You can set the pieces to "Impregnability: Harmless" and that will make them invincible, its what I did on my Heli Base map to a number of the large Hesco barriers and bunkers.
There is still barbed wire and tank traps in the game.
You do know you could make modern Hesco like defense lines, honestly far better than any of those MOWAS Atlantic Wall defenses. Truth be told, ive messed with them a few times and they honestly take away from the whole 'big scary beach defense', because many of the slits and gaps are to small for the AI to actually make use of(MOW/CTA doesnt do inside building fighting very well at all). Alot of the base defenses dont really function well.
You honestly would be much better utilizing the Hesco pieces and existing sandbags to hand build a more modern looking beach defense line. Its honestly easy, if not hella time consuming, since you can place each individual hesco brick. You can copy paste segments, select each block, ctrl c, to copy, ctrl v to paste. Put your imagination to work and im sure you could come up with some hella defense lines.
Also, the bunkers are called Hesco_defense and Hesco_defense_tower. They are in the same area as the hesco bricks.
