Ringworld (for those who haven't read compare with Halo)

I would love this game to get a ringworld would this be hard to make:
A wide band streching around the sun and wider than many earths. (in this game, no change is needed to that part, but the skybox would be modified to show an "arch" overhead)

Soil/bedrock should not be deep, since it literally is a constructed ring where you are on the inside.

The star would perpetually be in zenith, but it has "shadow squares" orbiting between the star and the ring to make for a day/night cycle.

I'd want to set the temperature to "earthlike" but using Mars atmo could make sense.

Is this at all possible, and would it be hard to pull off?

Earthlike atmosphere could make things too easy but otherwise loving the idea. Could be a old decaying ring that has been abandoned/damaged or something. Would be the perfect setting to introduce those hostile alien bug creatures.

Mars Atmo, but Earth temperature. :)
