MW 5 TOOLKIT
OK.

So I'm trying to learn to make a simple, basic custom portrait mod, and perhaps a Merc Co. custom logo mod as well...

I can't find any "MW5 Toolkit for dummies" tutorials, so I'm asking here for a bit of help.

Can any one give me simple, (as in, easy to follow) instructions on how to make my custom portraits mod?

The TOOLKIT seems to be a great, unwieldy monstrosity, (and while I know it must be fantastic once mastered} for a noob like me it's a very steep learning curve, and very intimidating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and perhaps I can share the results of these instructions in a mod of my own soon...

PEACE!

This is the full Unreal Editor 4 in all its glory, not a mod toolkit or some wimpy asset extractor. There is no "simple" :)

The portraits are in UI/Textures.
Make a new mod plugin, rightclick on the asset in the editor, select save to mod. Then you can poke at it, depending on what you want.

You can make a new portrait asset in your mod's content folder also (right click-> MWmisc(?)).
But it needs to be tagged properly as a pilot or company logo. These get dynamically pulled by the game code if they exist (so if the mod is loaded).

Well, that's just the problem for me, there is no "save to mod" or "add to mod" selection available in the drop down menu after right clicking the portrait I want to edit/change... Which selection in that menu saves/adds to mod?

There's a Create Mod button somewhere, you'll have to make a new mod that way.
Then you can "save to mod". But really, come to Discord, it's easier to get help there :)

Yup, did all that, there's no "save to mod" button/option... but I really appreciate you trying to help a noob

I'll try to find this discord you speak of.

Can you give me a location on Discord to find the help I'm looking for?
