Less Reflex intense Mode.
Now i am an old man who has been a battletech and Mechwarrior fan from the FASA days. As such i have lost the quick reflexes of the younger generation. So iam asking to see if any of you modders out there are able to make a mode that can change the difficulty level a smidge. Example of What i mean is i have a Lance of an Atlas, Banshee, Awesome and Black Knight, and i am coming back in the Dropship with red and Orange on my mechs and this is against a level 20 Fight

Sorry for the long post

Don't have a solution for you for MW5, but if you haven't looked into it already, you could look up the Battletech game in the Steam store, it's turn based so I don't think reflexes would be an issue. :)

Do you have an idea for what exactly you might want such a mod to do? "Reduce difficulty" is rather broad. Based on your writeup, I'm guessing the general gist is you're concerned about how much damage your lance is taking, and I can think of only a couple things:

1.) Give all 'mechs in your lance a blanket damage reduction value, essentially just plugging in a handicap to the Shielding skill (that is, doing it behind the scenes, but giving everyone a +whatever value, on top of whatever progression they make by skilling up in and of itself).

2.) Ditto, but with the evasion stat, so enemies are less accurate.

Also I wouldn't beat myself up too much were I you, this game definitely has some pucker factor on 9 missions out of 10 that the other games just did not. I used to never lose a single component in previous games, now I'm lucky to leave a mission without having at least one arm blown off or getting legged.

for those that have already commented, i have played the H B S and finished multiple times. What i am looking for is a mod that let me turn down the damage i received. Thee was a mod that i used that turned down to 40-75% it was just my old man speed and made up for the loss of y younger reflexes

If I recall correctly, isn't there an "Aim Assist" in game options?

If you want to reduce damage taken, try using the Save Editor and give your Commander pilot max skills (or whatever you want). This will not only make you hit harder, but take significantly less damage.

It seems like the mod that I used to make both my mechs and the enemy mechs tougher doesn't work anymore but here's the link: https://www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/60

You could also turn on aim assist on the gameplay options. Think of it as a targeting computer.

Lots of mods will need updating for the new version of the game, so if the author is still active, maybe they'll update it.

I am an old Grognard myself and have found aim assist to be very helpful.

Just to date myself a little, I got into the game when there were four boxed sets called Battletech, Citytech, Aerotech, and Battleforce, back in 1988.

This mod will help:
https://www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/7

It modifies the way enemies spawn in battle, all enemies arrive via dropship, it also cuts down on the vehicles spawning behind you and makes units spawn in much further away. It definitely will help with the difficulty.

There's also a trainer by Fling that, among other things, lets you change timescale. Set it to 0.6 or 0.7 and it's like Matrix bullettime :)
(and yes, I play SP twitch shooters like Doom and whatever with slowmo, because I'm also old and feeble lol)

I've added a hotkey-based bullettime thingy to one of my MW5 mods previously that worked pretty well (pre-DLC). Maybe I'll revisit that idea sometime.

According the the most recent posts on those mod pages, they aren't currently working with the new expansion (yet). :( Hopefully they will be updated soon.
