I don't see a link for steam workshop for this game
Was thinking of getting the steam version, but first want to see how much / if any mod support it has so far.. however, unlike other steam games, I don't see a workshop link for this game in the community section where you would normally browse the mods. How can I find it? Is there a url for it, I'd like to browse it like I do for other workshop games.

The URL you posted, cszolee79, leads me to the home page of Steam Workshop and not to the workshop for Mechwarrior5. The workshop has been missing for a few days for me. I don't know what's happening for some people to have access and not others.

you're in the workshop discussion, just click browse and items at the top...

I think something is not right about the Workshop settings for this game. Usually Workshop items are visible even if you are not logged in to Steam (like, on the web page I linked, with a random browser), but here, for some reason, only the game owners see that tab.
So no little mouse icon next to your name - no Workshop tab, and no way to see what mods are there.

This seems to be the issue I'm having. I don't own the game yet but wanted to see the mods available first. But it seems only game owners can see the actual workshop tab (this is not how workshop works for most games, you can view it without owning the game)

It opens this page: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/
Something is messed up about this workshop.

Nexus has the same mods (and more, since only Steam game owners can upload here).

There are 20 mods on Steam Workshop right now.
The mods are cosmetic and superficial.
I am looking for beefy mods like full mech customization and overhaul of the game mod. Sorry!

I'm pretty sure none of those are updated to the current version and if they are they're probably on the Nexus, not on the Workshop at the moment.

Yes. Just hope they will do the necessary modification and port them to steam platform

Steam workshop is not the best place for Mechwarrior 5 mods because most of the game's players can't access it.
Maybe because it isn't set up correctly yet. I can access other workshops fine, even though I own the games on GoG.

For now, at least, everyone should use the Nexus.

Installing Nexus mods is very simple, anyway. Download a mod. Unzip the mod into the game's "mod" folder, then run the game and select the mods to enable from the main menu. Then restart.

It's not about Steam, it's about
- the game update changed the file structure so all mods need updated (regardless of which store they are in)
- the game is bugged, even if the mod is updated, game will not read NEW assets. So only overrides work (change existing game assets). Furthermore, the game might crash if the mod uses a new asset (that the game can't read).
- the editor is bugged, it will crash on some assets being overridden.

So no big overhauls until both game and editor are fixed in an update, which to my knowledge is already in the certification process, but takes time.

I own the game yet i can't see the Workshop. But i can access it by going through the community tab.

Even then i see zero mods unless i click to change the sorting order then they all show up.

Very off bug i haven't seen on Steam before.

Yep, this workshop is blocked to everyone who doesn't already own the game on Steam. Never seen anything like it before. Don't think it's a bug at all, I think it's quite intentional.

Yeah, that and the "bug" with the editor that doesn't allow new asset mods to work in the game makes me think they are doing this on purpose so that someone doesn't come in with a free (and most likely a better) version of planned DLC
