With 4.2 at the horizon, I think that many of us would still like to keep 4.1 as so many cars were designed there. I would personally hate to recreate them all manually...
Thanks for the promise to keep the 4.1 functioning, but this still raises the question of preserving all the mods. With everyone focused on 4.2, it's quite possible some will pull their 4.1 mods down. Is it possible for Automation to access the saved mods outside of Steam Workshop folders? (there are already issues with some mods having been taken down and people not having access to them anymore).
