You have to convert them by using Animaze Editor.

Are there performance improvements in animaze over facerig? I use an avatar from the facerig workshop that doesn't exist in Animaze. If nothing has changed I don't see why I would switch to Animaze but truthfully I don't know.

There is absolutely no obligation to switch if you don't want to.

On the question of which is better in 2024, we trust there's no contest :).
Even when Animaze is "handicapped" by using using the old facerig ported avatars like Fluffo (which are a bit gimped when compared to Animaze native avatars like Noah or Brutus), and limit Animaze to just the default webcam tracking, we still think the tracking looks and feels more natural on Animaze.

Take a look here:

If you then start using exclusive new Animaze features like iPhone face tracking support, support for more model formats, more trackers, VMC, and so on, and animaze-optimized avatars, then there's no comparison.
You can test the two software suites side by side, there is no cost to use the free tier of Animaze.

If you use a webcam feed splitter like ManyCam and have a decent PC, you can feed the same input video feed in both (that's how the above video was created).
